Relay, relay, relay.

This is a common problem.

Also, the connection at the radiator fan could have corroded away where it is soldered to the fan. Check this too.

Also, a fusible link could have blown. Fusible links are wires with insulation that can be 'stretched' when blown, since metal wiring inside is designed to burn out without actually harming the insulation.

Look for this problem as well.

Good luck to you.

My radiator cooling fans on my 1999 Buick Century will not come on. I have checked the fans and they are good, just getting no power. I have replaced the coolant temp sensor to no avail.

Have you checked to see if a fuse has been blown that operate the fan? Check your fuse box and book for the info concerning your radiator fan or any fan operation. That's a good start.

Hot light comes on 1998 chevy lumina

Has this happened suddenly? Or over a period of time?
Either way, it sounds from your description as if either the fan/s that assist in forcing air through the vehicle's radiator aren't operating; or, as likely, the radiator core is partially blocked with sludge left over from when the engine was manufactured. Might be worthwhile getting someone to do a cooling system pressure check.
Good luck!

95 lumina over heating

Before the head gasket is condemned, the coolant fan operation should be checked, the fan should come on when the temp reaches 226 f degrees or 3/4 of the way up.

If the fan doesn't work I would replace the coolant temp sensor for the computer. Get a coolant pressure test done and if the pressure drops with no external leak I would also get a block test done if the block test fails then the head gasket is faulty.

Now if the pressure test is good I would replace the radiator.

Keep us updated.

Were is the fan clutch for the radiator on a 97 chevy lumina

It does not have a fan clutch,it has a electric fan,the cooling fan comes on when it gets to a certain temp, the engine that is,and that is about 215 degrees to 219 degrees, and if the ac is turned on,the cooling fans will come on.

Radiator fan not working

Probably the radiator fan motor or a fuse blown that operates the motor. Check fuses and then check the radiator motor to see if it is good. Also, sometimes the fans themselves need replacing.

91 chevy lumina 3.1 starts but when reaches operating temp dies

check your cooling system, the thermostat, water level, test for cooling fan sensors and fan operation, clogged radiator test for 30-50 degrees difference from the top to the bottom of the rad,it could be clogged.Less than 30 degrees it's good.
Check for water in the oil or white/brown foam on the dip stick that would be a blown head gasket, causing you engine to over heat and cut off.

Cooling fans not turning on. Fuses good. Relays good.

The fan will only come on when the water temp. reaches about 80 digrees with the new water pump the temp. is staying low and the fan is not needed. Drive it a while checking the temp. guage if it over heats and the fan doesnt com on then you have a problem if not all is o.k.
