SOURCE: Secondary air supply failure

I have a 2005 Envoy with a 4.2..... Just recently the check engine light illuminated so I read the code after replacing the 20amp fuse labeled cigar. My OBDII connection had no power so if you plug your reader in and nothing check the fuse under the hood labeled "cigar"
After pulling the code P0410 Secondary Air Injection Malfunction I checked the operation of the air pump by removing the hose connected to the solenoid. By the way the solenoid is located on the pass side of the engine top towards the back. After pulling the hose off the solenoid I started the vehicle when it was cold and after 20 seconds or so the pump should turn on and blow air out of the hose. Once I verified the pump was operating I pulled the solenoid then placing jumpers from the Positive & Negative of the battery to the pins on the solenoid. You should be able to hear the solenoid click which says its operating. But mine did nothing so I read across the pins with an Ohm meter and verified the coil was good.
So take some good penetrating oil and fill the inside of the valve with it. You can see the plunger shaft assy in the opening and thats the area you want to fill with a good penetrating oil!!!! Let it sit for a couple of hours keeping it full of oil. The housing is aluminum and the shaft is likely to be a brass material so rust is not possible. Its caused by a buildup of carbon!! The penetrating oil will soften the carbon which in turn will free up the plunger!! MINE WORKS GREAT NOW and plus you will save around $140.00 if you were to buy it from the dealer!!! Or $80.00 aftermarket from RockAuto.com

SOURCE: 2005 GMC Envoy 4wd 4.2liter V6 check engine light is on.

The check valve is #12619128 and the gasket is #24577193. I think $65 and $75 respectively you can try websites like parts4chevy.com and gmpartsdirect.com.
your talking about the diverter valve for the AIR pump. In which case it is easy to do and its easily accesible in the engine bay. The valve is located at the passenger side by the transmission dipstick tube under the intake tube. Good luck

SOURCE: 04 ENVOY,REPLACED SECONDARY AIR PUMP AND BLEW OUT

The water comes from exhaust system /condense/ because the check valve does work properly. The check valve is located on left top side of the engine where the hoses from the air pump connect to the exhaust.

Need to find location of emission pump on 2004 gmc envoy

I found this picture, for secondary air injection pump. It appears, driver side, frame rail, close to the front, hopefully.
You have to safely raise and support the vehicle to get at it.

I have a 2004 gmc envoyn check engine light came on read code it says secondary air filter

I think you mean secondary air pump, see attached figure, it is item #6. There is also a valve involved (item #2). Sometimes water gets into the lines causing fault.

Code 410

code po410 on a 2004 gmc envoy is that there is a problem with the secondary air injection system, you will need to check the fuse located in the engine compartment first, the next step is to start the truck cold and listen for the air pump to turn on for a few seconds, this will sound like a jet engine but not that loud, after it runs for 5 min and you dont hear it then you may have a bad pump which is located under the driverside on frame but if you hear the pump then you may have a bad valve, this valve is located on the exhaust manifold area and has a hose from the pump to valve, remove the hose and check for water, drain any water in the hose, also remove hose at pump and drain, the most common cause for this code is the valve is not opening and the air pump gets water inside and goes bad, thats the po410 code. a quick note; if fuse is blown look under truck near pump and check relay as it fills with water and blows fuse, if this is the case replace relay and blow water out of connector.good day.

My 2004 Envoy check engine light stays on. I am told by the GM dealer that I need a secondary air pump and emission valve, cost about $825. Is it necessary to make these repairs and will anything be harmed...

Your gas mileage will suffer and if your state requires an annual emission inspection, you will not pass. There is also a possibility that your catalytic converter's life will be shortened because of improper combustion. Ask the dealer if these component are covered under the emissions warranty.
