There is no drain on 8.8 or 9.75in axles to drain crack diff cover loose you will need to install a new gasket and using a hand pump to fill and diff with oil will make your life much easier (about impossible otherwise)

Changing rear end oil

Most rear differentials, it's a drain and refill operation.

SOME differentials have a drain plug, but others have ONLY a fill plug.

If yours doesn't have a drain plug, then you need to suck the old fluid out, with suction/transfer pump:

http://www.harborfreight.com/gear-oil-and-fluid-pump-61746.html

You can also use this to refill with the new fluid.

Most rear ends are filled to the bottom of the fill plug hole.
If you overfill, just let it overflow/drain until it stops dripping.

Now, different differentials require different fluids, so check what you need.
It might be in the owner's manual.

How to fill a rear differential on a 2002 gmc sonoma two wheel drive

It should have a drain plug and a fill plug on the differential case. Drain plug will be at the bottom. Look for a fill plug on the front about halfway up or just below. It will probably take a 1/2 inch drive ratchet end, or maybe a larger hex drive. You can tell when you see it.
To get the oil out of the bottle and into the case, you may want to buy a little hand pump that will fit over the oil bottle and pump it in till it starts coming out the fill plug. Otherwise, you will be doing contortions trying to keep the bottle upended and going into the case, even with a small hose attached to the bottle-it gets real messy fast.

My gear oil from the rear wheel bearing is leaking how do i replace the seal? Secondly, How can I fill in the differential with gear oil cause I tried but can't see fill in or drain plugs along the...

You will need to remove the rear diff cover. There is a small bolt that secures the pin that the spider gears ride on. remove this bolt, and then remove the pin(you might call it a shaft). Remove the caliper and rotor from the side you are replacing, and push the axle in. Inside the differential, you will see what we call a c-clip on the end of the axle shaft you just pushed in. Sometimes this clip if it is in the right position, will fall out on it's own. If not, slide it off, and go pull the axle out. Now you can pry out the seal and replace it. There will be a pipe plug with a square recess on the front side of the differential. You can put a 3/8 drive ratchet in the recess and unscrew it. This is the fill plug. You fill the rear end untill it runs back out of this hole. It will be located about half-way up from the bottom of the differential housing.

How do I change the rear differential oil in my 2004 XC90 Volvo?

I have confirmed the fill plug is located on the Differential cover (rear facing) Closer to the left about half way up. Although Summit after market Differential covers has a drain plug the OEM cover does not. You will need to suction the old fluid out then add the new fluid. From what I can see the fill plug is 13mm. Capacity is .7L. Used Volvo Rear Axle Fluid (API GL-5 Low friction part #1161329). Also I read that it requires one aluminum crush washer (same size as engine oil drain plug). I don't know about reusing the origional.

How do you add transmission fluid to a 2000 town country

The tranny fluid is added through the tranny dipstick (make sure it's not the oil dipstick). Fluid color should be red and the dipstick should have instructions on how to check level (car in park, engine at idle). Funnels are your friend here.

Trying to find out how much oil the Triton V-10 takes when I do my oil change? I cant seem to find it or anyone who knows

It should be listed in the owners manual, but because of different oil cooler setups you may have to do the change yourself and add oil until the correct level is established..... for the first oil change.
Most likely 7 liters, but start with 5,run the engine to fill the oil filter, let it sit for 5 mins and recheck and fill to full.
Note the amount needed for next time.
