When the starter will only click it must be replaced.
Usually, the best choice is to take it to an auto parts store and turn it in on a rebuilt starter. J.

I have a 1988 F-250 with a 460, it has a new battery ,starter and selonoid and it will still not crank

Hello, Take off the small wire on your Solenoid and then use one battery jumper cable to jump the Solenoid.from each side with the big cable. Make sure you are in Neutral with a Stickshift or Park with an Automatic. The starter should spin with bypassing the Solenoid.

Now you have the system 1/2 working. Check the loose small wire with a voltmeter or test light and it should light when the keyswitch is turned and held to Start. If the small wire is dead you must backtrack your Interlock switches.

You have an interlock on the clutch pedal lever on a stick, or on the brake pedal lever on an automatic. The automatic must be adjusted so that when the Brake pedal is pressed AND the gearshift is in PARK, that power goes to the small wire going to the Solenoid. Once you get the Interlock switches lined up properly the small wire should light up every time the Key is held to the START position. Then just reconnect the small wire onto the Solenoid and you should have it fixed..

1988 mazda 323 hatchback, 212K miles. Tried to start this morning, no go. Cabin lights and radio came on, ignition switch turns, but no "click-click-click" sound. I think the starter isn't connecting...

I would have the system checked by a starting/charging analyzer. If the draw is 1 or 2 amps and the starter doesn't turn, the starter will have to be replaced to replace the bad solenoid. Also, if the draw is 75 to 125 amps and it doesn't turn, the starter is bad.

Normally, a starter should draw 75 to 125 amps and turn vigorously, assuming the battery connections are ok.

I have a 1995 subaru legacy. battery looses charge. i tested the battery and it test good. i had alt checked on the bench tester and it passes bench test but will still not charge battery? could there...

Sounds like a bad Earth connection. Check all the battery and earth leads where they connect to the Battery, Engine, Starter Motor and Body. If possible disconnect, clean and reconnect.

My Subaru Legacy Outback won't start and the battery is fully charged, the starter won't even click, what is the problem?

Starters don't click.
Solenoids click.

So remove push-on connector from Solenoid wire.
Should be clean, secure & relay bracket grounded.
Connect a jumper wire between battery positive terminal & the exposed terminal on the solenoid.
If starter motor now operates then it's the ignition switch.
If starter motor does not operate then replace solenoid.

92 subaru legacy my hazards just just came on and won't turn off.

That usually happens if the battery goes all the way dead or disconnected & reconnected. If that's the case you'll usually hear a clicking sound under the dash also. it's part of the security system & needs to be reset. You can reset the system by either using the remote if you have one or most have a reset button under the left hand lower side of the driver side dash, turn the ign. on, eng. off & press the button for at least one second.
