Have your engine scoped out by a reputable service shop. Was it running better before you replaced those items? Have you done a tune up lately? Did you buy bad gas? Are your fuel injectors clean? Is the fuel pump going out on you? Are your spark plugs and spark plug wires good? Are their any sensors that may need replacing? I have a 1990 Honda Accord and the car just wants to keep taking my money. It needs too much love to keep any more.

Hello, sounds like you may have a engine miss, things like spark plugs, plug wires, fuel injectors can cause a engine miss. you will need to have the system scanned for trouble codes. once a trouble code has been pulled form the system you will have a much better idea what the problem might be

I just purchased a 2005 Chevy Malibu, and now the car is puttering. I check the oil and added some to it. What could this be?

The puttering could be faulty spark plugs ....this is one of many problems it could be I would give it a good tune up and have a shop check your injectors ....quick fix that sometimes works is filling it up with premium gas and see if it goes away

2005 Nissan sentra puttering.

It may not turn off the check engine light, sometimes those have to be reset. The issue of the car sputtering could have many causes. I would first check to see if you have loose plug wires or cracked wires. Check for cracks by putting the car in a dark area and looking at the engine while it runs. If you see sparks coming from the wires, it's time for a change. If that cures it, stop there. If not, move on to the plugs and check them out.
