P0170 fuel sys is too rich or too lean on bank 1 it could be maf sensr or oxy. sensor both are expensive. or vaccume lines loose or crack. my suggestion is get an honest mechanic how much this codes cost. dont just go to one mechanic. shop around until you are sure. remember labor cost a lot too. your problem might just a loose tube or tube crack or crack pipe that the air sip inside or out of your exhaust manifold and oxy sensor tell the pcm computer that fuel is too rich and lean. oxy sensor dont lie they have thier own code

Fix codes po170,po173 on a 2000 montero sport xls

These are fuel trim codes indicating a problem for bank 1 and bank2 of the engine. There are a variety if things that can cause these codes to appear. The two most common problems I have encountered that set these codes are vacuum leaks and mass air flow sensors dirty/defective. Check all vacuum lines for being connected and especially the air hose that runs from the air filter housing to the throttle body for secureness and splitting.

I think my fuel injectors need cleaning or one may be failing is there away to clean them myself other than putting fuel injector cleaner in there anyway to tell if one is failing also is there

No, you cannot clean furl injectors. Fuel today contains cleaners and 99.9% of injector failure is due to an injector whose electrical winding create no or low voltage or high voltage. Either way the faulty injector will cause the engine to miss or run poorly. You can use a volt meter to check voltage. With the volt meter touch each probe to either terminal on the injector. A normal ohm reading would range from 11.8 -12.9 ohms. Any reading from 1.0 to 8.0 or 15.0 and higher, the injector is no good and should be replaced.

I have a 99 mitsubishi galant its reading a code po170 sumthin bout gas wat does that mean

P0170....Fuel Trim (Bank 1)

from reading the code it is about fuel and its the mixture isnt correct ,this i think is being caused by a faulty O2 sensor on bank one but as iam in europe and out gallants are normally a 4 cyl engine i am afraid i couldnt tell you whats bank one weither its the left side or the right side but if you can find out what side is bank one then its just a case of testing the O2 sensor with a automotive meter then changing the appropiate sensor as theri are two sensors fitted one before the cat and one after but without a tester on it its difficult to say but i would check the after the cat sensor first.

PO170 is a fuel trim malufunction. On a V6 this applies to the rear cylinder head. Lots of possibilities as fu"el trim" refers to the volume air flow sensor, fuel injector, fuel pressure, engine coolant senor, air intake sensor, barometric pressure sensor, oxygen sensor, intake air leaks, or cracks in the exhaust manifold

1997 subaru legacy 2.5 emission code P0170 fuel trim 1 ,2 . how due you correct this?

If I am correct the po170 code is a lean condition. Usually this is caused by a cracked air duct leading to the air filter. Or the air filter box is not secured properly. I work in the service department at subaru and when we do big services we dont get the air box on right and customers return with a check engine light with the same code and we always find that the air box is not secured. This does not mean this is the issue, for a fuel trim code could be other issues, but I would definately look at this first before getting into a/f sensors, converters and all those other expensove items.

Fuel consumption of my mistubishi galant ss 1990

Make sure the air filter is clean, make sure the oxygen sensor is ok but would have to suspect its carboned up due to vehicle age ,if not working properly it tells the engine to run richer than normal. Also make sure the plugs and spark plug leads are in good condition. It wouldnt hurt to put a bottle of injector cleaner in the fuel tank next service as dirty injectors will also add to fuel use.A few small things to do or check but worth it by the sound it.

Loss ofpower

A P1400 code means there is something wrong with the evap/egr/air/catalyst...also that 1 means its a code made by the manufacturer so its vehicle specific. whatever the problem is it could potentially damage your Catalitic Converter. SO its about something emissions wise. Its highley unlikely that it is the ECM, its possible that the ECM is recieving inaccurate inputs from another component so its making poor choices but the ECM is usually not the problem but never cancel that out...try more tests like possibly your evap solenoid may not be pulsing. if you know what your doing take a volt meter and check the evap connector and test the ground and pos(power) side, if there is a circuit issue you might be able to recognize it, if you dont know the specs it may be difficult to konw whether its bad or not. but keep trying things and reading ... hope this helped
