I'd check the fuses and also good but the only thing i have'nt check if there is, is the backing sensor because i dont know the location. And if theres any thing that i did'nt know, please let me know. Thanks a lot.

The reverse lamps are operated via the DTR ( Digital Transmission Range ) Sensor.
This is one the side of the trans ( as flbergeron68 posted ).
The Reverse circuit is :
Cab Fuse Panel fuse #5 to Light Blue w/ Pink stripe wire to DTR the output of the DTR is a Black w/ Pink Stripe wire to the reverse lamps and the trailer tow reverse lamp relay.
The DTR should have at least 4 wires on it ( Power, reverse lamps and the hot in start position and output to the start motor relay )

The sensor/switch is located on the transmission, it has 2 or more wires connected to it

Check if your vehicle uses a backup/reverse/safety switch in the transmittion, this is the most common problem after fuses in vehicles with that type of switch - Jeep Grand Cherokee owner

Have you checked the socket to see if 12 volts is reaching the socket for brake light citcuit? Probe the wires with a 12 volt test light probe (avail from any parts store for about $6)

My bright lights do not work on my 02 ford f150. Where would I begin to look for the problem?

When you say they do not work, is this with the MFS ( MultiFunction Switch ) pushed forward to bright, or with both the high ( MFS forward ) and FTP ( Flash To Pass, pulling back on the MFS lever ) ?

Did you check the fuse for the high beams ? ( Cab fuse panel, fuse # 16 ) with a meter or test light on both pins on the back of the fuse ? To have power on this fuse you need the main headlamp switch turned to the headlamp position, and the MFS pushed forward ( or holding the FTP function ).

If you have power on the fuse with the MFS forward, it would be a bulb issue ( burnt out ) , time to check the bulb connector for power when the high beams are on, this is the Light Green w/ Black stripe wire at the bulb connector.

Directions in your owners manual on getting to the bulb connector by removing the headlamp housing ( ie. changing the bulb ).

If you did not get an owners manual with your truck ( purchased used ), you can download one from Ford :

I do not have any signal lights, park lights, and my heater fan gave out,all the one time,on my 1998 Ford 150 pickup

If you haven't already, check the fuse. If that is not the problem, go the the relay box under the hood and check the relay. If that still does not fix your problem, write back.

I have a 98 Ford Taurus -- turn signals work, but no brake lights when brake pedal is pushed? Does this sound like a fuse, switch or bulb problem?

i had the same problem in my ranger, check fuses, wires, possibly one bulb is bad, i had to rewire mine because of a burnt wire.

1998 Chevy S10 pickup backup lights don't work

Yes it screws in on right side of tramission and you will need a 7/8 inch deep socket to remove it. You may be able to clean the old one once it is removed. There is a little ball thatgets dirty and may you can get by with cleaning it. Good Luck. Ed
