Be sure the wires are plugged in and be sure your fuse is good. Turn the key to the run position and listen to see if you here the pump run, if you don't try resetting the roll over switch, it can be located on the same side of the fill tube in the trunk or in the glove box, if it still does not run test your fuses and fuel relay switch in the engine compartment, also be aware if you did not by a factory replacement pump you could have a bad pump. I have had problems with after market pumps so no longer buy anything but factory made pump. Hope this helps let me know if you need more help and thanks for using fixya.

Do I have a fuel pump fuse and where would it be at ?

Better to test the pump relay with a meter or a test light. The relay could have failed.
The relay and the fuse should be in the fuse box near the battery.
Check your owners manual for details.

2010 f150 wont start will turnover but no start cant hear the fuel pump start either

sounds like either the fuel pump relay or the fuel pump itself has gone out. check fuse panel first then check fuel pump relay. if those are good then check power leads to pump at tank and if you have power there then the pump has probably failed. hope this helps. Chris

Fuel pump will not engage when turning the ignition on

had this same problem with my '94. checked all other systems first. not common but possible the fuel cut-off switch may need to be reset. this usually only happens in an accident or sudden VERY hard stop. this reset switch is under dash passenger side, need to pull the kick panel. also check fuse/fuel pump relay in relay box under hood. fuse is under dash (20 amp). if all of these check OK, you are probably looking at replacing the pump itself which means pulling the tank. before you do check to see that you have power to the pump. in winter/snow/salt climates (I'm in WI) may get "lucky" and have a bad ground or shorted wire along the frame rails. these are not well protected for this climate and do corrode with time.

I have a 96 dodge dakota 4-wheel drive 3.9 engine automatic pickup i have changed out one outside coil one on the outside of the motor the other underneath the rotary bug. I changed out the rotary bug...

take off dist cap.turn rotor one way then the other. if the tip of the rotor moves more than 1/16 of an inch of free travel then the block bushing is worn out. the block bushing is bronze and it holds the oil pump drive shaft in perfect alignment. when worn the cam and oil drive shaft get cocked causing the oil pump drive gear teeth to wear off, sometimes cam gear is also damaged but rarely.the dist. is driven off the oil pump drive shaft and when there is exessive play it causes ignition and fuel timing problems with symtoms just like yours

How do you check if your fuel pump is bad without removing the gas tank

Put the key into the ignition and turn it to the second position. This position will light up the dash lights but will not crank the engine.
Listen for a faint or soft humming sound coming from the rear of the vehicle, specifically the gas tank. This will happen almost immediately after you turn the key to the second position, so you'll have to listen closely and be ready for it. The humming is the sound of the fuel pump priming, or pressurizing, the fuel system. If you do not hear this sound, you may have a faulty fuel pump.
  1. Check to make sure there is enough fuel in the gas tank. Although this may seem obvious, it happens to the best of us. If you're gas tank is near empty, the engine may not start. This happens more frequently in the winter time in cold climates; the low temperatures cause condensation to form on the inside of the gas tank. Since water doesn't burn, the fuel pump tries to draw in fuel and instead gets a mixture of water and gasoline and cannot get enough fuel to the engine for combustion.
Check to see that the vehicle starts. Even if you don't hear the fuel pump priming, attempt to start the vehicle. If the engine won't turn over (start) and you haven't heard the fuel pump prime the system, it is a good indication that the fuel pump may have failed.

Check the fuel pump fuse. If the fuse is blown, the fuel pump will not prime. Open the fuse box under the dash of your vehicle and locate the fuse for the fuel pump. Alternately, some vehicles locate the fuel pump fuse in a fuse box under the hood. Remove the fuse box cover (specific removal will vary according to the vehicle). Check the fuse to see if the metal strip inside the fuse has popped. Replace the fuse if the metal strip has popped; if it hasn't popped, it is most likely your fuel pump itself that has failed.

No humming from fuel pump when ignition turned and car will not start - is it possible that the fuse for the fuel pump could prevent car from starting ??

yes,,,check the fuel pump fuse if its bad replace it,if not check fuel pressure, turn key on and hit shradder valve see if gas comes out with alot of pressure, becarefull not to get hit by the gas,,if not you might have a bad fuel pump,,and you dont have to have a blown fuel pump fuse to have a bad pump.,,,,

Is it possible for a 1993 Buick Century to not start if the fuse for the fuel pump is not good ?? Where is the fuse for the fuel pump located ??

If your fuse is bad, it will not pump.  the fuse is one of two places (or both in some instances).  Check your main power fuses under the hood.  There should be a fuse or relay labeled fuel pump.  There may also be a fuse in the interior (with all the other mini fuses).  Look at the inside cover of the fuse box or your owner's manual to see which fuse controls the fuel pump.
Easy check for the condition of the fuse is a visual look.  If the silver metal inside is solid, it's probably ok.  If it's broken, replace it.  IF you have a volt meter, you can check the continuity of the fuse.  No continuity, fuse is bad.
