It will be a black wire on the back of the foot pedal, there will be three wires on the switch one will be hot oon the other side it will have the return and it will have the return to unlock trasmisson shifter and another to the brake lights.

Rear brake lights do not come on , including the one in the door when brake padel is depressed

check the fuses in the fuse panel,if the signal lights are working at the back then the bulbs are good(have seen all tail lights burnt)then you will have to check the brake light switch at the base of the brake pedal.its a 2 wire switch.one wire should have voltage all the time and the other only when the brake is depressed.if the power is not going through the switch then the switch needs replacing.also check for broken wires at the switch also.this should fix the problem.if the third light is not working chances are the bulb needs replacing.

1997 Dodge Ram 2500 brake lights do not work. The

you need to do basics first,
check to see if bulbs are good,then verify no voltage at bulbs,
check to see if your truck has has a tailor hitch and wiring installed.
where they connect to your original wire is where you need to check first,

Utility trailer wiring to 1998 Dodge Carivan

Trailer end; Red=Brake
Brown=Running lights
Yellow=Left
Green=Right
White=Ground
You will need a turn and brake signal box IF, you have different bulbs for brake and turn lamps. If the brake and turn bulbs are one(red)lens than no box will be required. Thanks, Dana

I need the wiring code for a 2008 grand caravan so I can install a trailer hitch. How can I get this info?

You can buy an adapter that will go in between your rear lights & main harness under van at connector, that will allow you to hook it up correctly. If it's a small trailer & no brakes on it, you may get a way with a flat 4 connection, provided your signals & brakes light use same bulb, otherwise you will need a small inline converter wired in also. Get back if you need more clarification. If only flat 4 and no brakes req'd, you can splice in to wires inside rear hatch that go to tailights. You decide & let me know if you need help. P.S. All you need is a test light (12v) and some connectors.
