Look into the ignition system's coil or coil pack or computer if it has one.

Tahoe wont start, cranks tries to fire

Sounds like a fuel delivery problem. Has the fuel filter ever been changed? You can try banging on the bottom of the fuel tank with a blunt object ( hammer works ) while some one cranks the engine. If it starts suspect a bad fuel pump

I f engine turning & choked hold throtel to floor while cranking and leave there until it fires. if no firing happends it must be electrical. rechk electrical connections. Cheers

2004 Chevy Van 2500 turns over but wont start

Try spraying starting fluid into the intake. Remove the air filter to do this. If it starts for a few seconds then you have a fuel delivery problem. If it does not, then you have an electrical problem with the ignition. there are 3 things needed for an engine to run if it turns over. Air, Gas, Spark (fire). No air filter solved the easy air issue. Add starting fluid answers the fuel issue. Only leaves spark after that.

My 97 520i bmw wont start it fires some times but wont start is it a petrol problem

If it fires only occasionally, my first suspect would be the crank position sensor (aka pulse generator). Should be on the front of the engine mounted very near the toothed wheel on the crankshaft,
You should check for fuel pressure at the fuel rail while you are cranking to see if it is a fuel delivery problem.

What will make the truck not start up but its getting fire, it wants 2 start but not turn over

Three systems in engines:

Fuel delivery (fuel mixing with air to burn and making it to the spark plugs)

Ignition (lighting the fuel on fire)

Compression Building up pressure to fire the fuel

It is possible your engine could have low compression if it has ever been run low on coolant or oil. The engine might spin or turn over but not have fire at the spark plugs. If you are correct that the spark plugs have fire but it will not "kick" or run then fuel delivery is where I would start. See if your fuel rail has fuel in it by pressing the fuel rail valve:
If you have fuel there under a good amount of pressure see if one of the plugs smells like gas after cranking. If so the problem is not the fuel, move on.
If you don't have fuel at the Schrader valve the problem is in the fuel pump and system.
refer to a manual on how to remove the pump from the tank and replace it. This problem has signs before it goes bad. Hard starts and running rough when hot.

Good luck

My acura integra turns over but wont start

three things are needed for start. fuel, spark, timing. spark can be checked with a spark checker available at your local auto parts store. gas delivery can be verified by depressing shrader valve in supply line, but delivery to the combustion chamber is harder to verify. can you force feed fuel to it at the throttle assembly, maybe with a spray can of carb cleaner? have fire extinguisher handy just in case. if it's turning over quickly without free spinning, backfiring, or spitting, the timing is probably ok.

My 2002 bmw 530d turns over but refuses to start. fuel pump is working ok and fuel is exiting ok from filter to engine.

First, just because ther is fuel present, doesn't mean that there is enough fuel pressure present to fire your injectors. The fuel pressure specification on an M54 Engine is Bar 3.5 at a delivery rate of 2.25 Liters Per Minute. (or in U.S. terms, 51 PSI at 0.6 Gallons Per Minute) This must be measured with a gauge to make sure it is correct before determining if there is enough fuel, or is the fuel pump is working properly.

Second, did you check for spark at the spark plugs?

you are having a fuel delivery problem...and it could be caused by numerous things...such as a bad fuel pump, a bad cold sensor or warm up injector.  You haven't attempted to  solve any of these suspected take it to a mechanic for repair
