Question about 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500HD

1 Answer

I have a 2006 Cevy Silverado 1500. The fan is on high on my air conditioner, but it does not blow out air. All I get is the outside air, when the car is moving, which can be cooled when I have the temperature turned down, but the fan is not working, and the system wants to keep on turning to recirculate.

The module for the fan may be bad. It's like a relay. Or the fan itself is worn out and needs replaced.

sometimes changing the fan first is desirable and economical. If this doesn't solve the problem, go for a relay.

It stands to reason that things that move will wear out first.

2006 Silverado went from blowing cold to hot. I think it might be the compressor but I don't want to spend 300 bucks if I don't have to any ideas???????

If your air conditioner needs recharging it is because the refrigerant chemical is leaking out of the system. Many people think that air conditioners naturally leak refrigerant, so they assume they have to take the car in every year for recharging. This is not true. The refrigerant is not supposed to leak. If the refrigerant is low, find and repair the leak. There should be no reason for a recharge.

Had exact same problem with my 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500. Would blow hot air thru drivers vents only and sometimes if I turned truck off and restarted would blow air conditioner for a bit. Rec'd recall letter from Chevrolet in January for this problem.

I have a 2006 silverado, the fan to the cab won't blow air.

Check the connector to the blower resistor, they tend to burn and destroy the resistor and the connector. Its located near the blower motor on the passenger side footwell.

Fan stopped blowing, h/vac fuse was intact; air

Your fan motor may have failed. The other option would be the high blow relay or the resistor unit. I hope this helps.
Thank you,

2003 chevy silverado air does not blow through vents. Condenser works. Pipes are cold. Fan works. Modular (next to fan) repalced to get fan to work. Heater air conditioner controls under radio replaced....

The air vents are control by vacuum line and or linkage.

Listen for hiss or feel for vacuum leak under the dash,

Feel for broken linkage(s) that are close to the vents.

WORK BACKWARD if you have small hands to feel out where is the missing link.

Air conditioner fan shuts off 95 silverado

It runs of a temperature switch. It only comes on when the condensor needs it to. This is completely normal
