You will need to hook up the on board diagnostics scan tool (OBD II) to retrieve the error code from your vehicle computer. This tool attaches underneath the drivers side steering wheel. You can borrow one for free at your local autoparts store. If your Volvo XC90 is flashing a red symbol then stop the vehicle as soon as possible in a suitable location and read the message shown in the text window. Click on the link below to read more:

If you have to ask then you do not have the skills or experience to tackle a job, that requires specialist tools and knowledge, that done wrong could destroy the engine. Sorry, but get trained help. If you love your Swedish tank.

Xc90 engine system service required

Hi if the error code is p0075 then its the Intake valve timing control solenoid valve is activated by ON/OFF pulse duty (ratio) signals from the Engine Control Module I would recommend you take the xc90 to a Volvo specialist or a main dealer if the car is running ok & not gone into limp mode it may be a simple reset hope this helps

The person(s) who serviced your alarm should be able to tell you if you have siren or horn type.. We have NO idea what alarm system you have..Volvo has many alarm systems. Ti reset you service light you need an OBII scanner - You can have any good shop or auto parts store do it for you.

I have xc90 d5 there is warning message came of engine system service required with power loss how to solve

Hi,

This is probably due to a problem with the swirl flap actuator arm - if you remove the top of the engine cover (the plastic bit) and look at the top, left front of the engine, do you see a plastic arm (approx 70 - 100 mm long) disconnected?

Regards,

RK

I had the same problem on my 04 XC90 - apparently it is a common failure... You need to replace a Siren module.

What does a message alarm system service required means on my 2004 volvo xc90?

It means that the vehicle diagnostic system has detected a faulty alarm component and must be diagnosed and fixed.

At best it just means that your alarm is partially or wholly non-functional, at worst it could activate at random or even cause the immobiliser to play up.

Unless you have specialist skills and tools then it's not really a DIY fix unless the fault is a really obvious one, like a failed door switch.

Check Engine Light with Code P0072 on 2004 Volvo XC90

Grounding issue "Circuit low" = ground wire problem or another system on the same circuit using too much current.

Check all wiring issues and then correct the issue to have the code go away :)
