I have never worked on a paseo, I presume that it is 4cylinder front wheel drive
A lot of the water pumps on the japanese cars are driven by the timing belt which is behind the plastic covers on the front of the motor
if it is similar to a holden astra you have to place a jack under the front of the engine to hold it up as you have to remove the front engine mount
loosen the alternator belt and remove the belt
remove the crankshaft pulley
remove the plastic timing covers top and bottom
remove the timing belt but make sure the cam gears do not move otherwise you have to set the timing up again
when the timing belt has been removed the water pump should be visible, possibly at the bottom left side looking at the engine from the side of the car
there may be 2 or 3 bolts holding the pump in, remove the bolts and the water pump should be able to pull out of the housing, there will be an "O" ring on the pump, make sure you put it on the new pump as it is a lot of work as you are about to find out if you have forgotten to do this
Here in Australia they want $1200 plus to do the timing belt on a holden astra without the water pump but it is best to replace the water pump when you replace the timing belt because of the work involved
took me about 5 hrs to do that job as I had never done one before
i hope this helps you in some way

Hello i was replaced my car's water pump and i start my car i was driving and i see my car has a over heat but i don't know what is a problem please i need help

There could be many problem areas that cause this.

1) low coolant level...possibly a leaky hose
2) bad water pump
3) sticking thermostat
4) bad head gasket or cracked head.
5) fan motor bad or fan relay not working.
6) temperature switch for fans not operating properly

It would be very hard to diagnose your problem without any further details, and/or information. Problems like this are best solved hands on.

1991 lincoln continental water pump stuck

You may try taking motor mount loose and just jacking up the motor to give you about another inch or two of room to work with. you should be able to do this without removing anything else. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Hi if this is a 2.2 water pump then you can do it without lifting the engine remove the alternator
it's just as easy to lift the engine
remove the overflow bottle
use a 2x4 and a jack under the oil pan
remove the upper motor mount
jack the motor up

Change water pump on 1995 toyota cor.le

alfred11s: No, you don't have to lift the motor. You do have to remove the right hand engine mounting insulator.
I will give you the procedure for the removal to access the pump:.
1.Drain engine coolant
2. remove right hand engine mounting insulator
3. Remove #2 and # 3 timing belt covers
4. Remove front engine mounting insulator as follows
a. remove hole cover
b. remove the 2 bolts from the mounting
c. remove the nut, the through-bolt and front engine mounting insulator
5. Remove the electric cooling fan
6.Disconnect engine wire remove the bolt and 2 nuts and disconnect the engine wire.
Water pump removal instructions:
1. Disconnect the crank sensor connector from the dipstick tube
2, Remove the dipstick tube and dipstick (only 1 bolt holds it)
3. Disconnect the water temp sensor from harness
4, Remove the two nuts and the # 2 water inlet from the hose.
5.Remove the three bolts which retain the water pump!
CAUTION! try to keep antifreeze off the timing belt. Put rags down and pack them where the coolant would normally spill.
WELL alfred11s: My answer should be a pleasant surprise.
Print it out and carry it out to the car.
If I've done well, maybe you can comment on what you think

Water pump mx6

Buy a service manual, I just finished working on mine, it's a big job. You need to remove pass front wheel, plastic cover behind it, 2 belts of the pass side of the motor, motor mount, crankshaft pulley, timing belt covers, timing belt/tensioner, at this point you might be able to get to the water pump. Now get ready for the fun part of putting it all back on without making a mistake and destroying your engine. You can not get this done without a service manual. I know what I'm doing, and I probably could not do this without a book.

Water pump replacement

the water pump should be located front right of motor the only thing that may take some time is if the belt needs to be replaced some models require you remove part of the engine mount. Job should take a pump / belt if damaged / antifreeze.

Water pump

im going to guess this is a 3.0 liter engine....the bolts in the bracket are 12 mm headed, you can remove the lowest one pry the bracket up slightly to remove the water pump. you need to remove the whole thing because there is a bolt on the backsid you need to remove to split the 2 halves
