Follow the large radiator hose from the radiator to the engine, you'll see a large clamp holding the hose onto the neck thats bolted to the engine block, under the neck is where your thermostat is located

HI. The easiest way to locate this device is to follow the upper radiator hose to the engine block, it will lead you to the thermostat housing, which is mounted to the block. You will need to remove the housing mounting bolts and remove the housing to access the thermostat component.

a sticking thermostat will cause the heat to be cold, that bleeder screw is to help purge the air out of the cooling system, when you add coolant to the radiator loosen this screw a bit and it will let the air out of the system, loosen the screw and add water until you get just water coming out, not bubbles, if it has bubbles coming out all the air isnt out of the system, try this first before replacing thermostat as air in the system will have an effect on the system

If HOUSING is broken, there is no repair, replace it. If you are replacing the thermostat, go to auto parts shop and they will show you where it is, and how to replace it. Just make sure you put thermostat in with the right side up, clean BOTH surfsces, and tighten down as specified. Having to go back and do it again will s@#k
