Clogged air filter possibly. intake manifold has strong suction so if filter clogged the high you rev the stronger the suction this would cause hose to collapse without air being able to flow through

Air conditioner blowing cold when driving, but blowing hot air when not driving

Multiple possible problems, low freon, imprope install of serpentine belt, or more likely suction hose collapse due to faulty part design. If freon low pressure between 45~55 pounds pressure and serpentine belt properly routed around idler pully between compressor and alternator, then suspect suction line collapse which literally starves the compressor at idle and constricts the compressor at all speeds.

The fix, is to toss your existing suction hose and buy one of these custom modified hoses: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=181880844799

How to replace a 1999 toyota camry 4 cylinder heater core

Instructions
    • Drain the Camry's engine coolant, using a clean container for reuse. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait a minute and a half for the airbag system to de-energize. Discharge and recover the air conditioner refrigerant.
    • 2Disconnect air conditioner suction hose and liquid pipe, then clamp on the tubes with an SST clamp. (Make sure you don't deform the tube). Disconnect the heater core hoses.

    • 3Disassemble every component of the dashboard, starting with the steering wheel and column. Removal includes the door scuff plates, cowl side trim, console panels and air bags. You'll need a second person's help to remove the dashboard from the interior.
    • 4Remove or disconnect all air ducts, the heater blower assembly, lower defroster nozzles, air conditioning radiator assembly. Remove the mode damper servo sub-assembly and Airmix damper servo sub-assembly, then remove the core from the air conditioner assembly.
    • 5Install the replacement heater core into air conditioner assembly. Reassemble all components of the heating/air conditioning unit, dashboard and dashboard components. Connect the heater core and A/C suction and pressure hoses, lubricating the O-rings with compressor oil.
    • 6Attach the negative battery cable, fill the cooling system and evacuate and recharge the air conditioner. Start up the engine and check for leaks in the system.

I am trying to refill my cars air conditioning refrigerant,so i matrying to locate Caravan's low side pressure fitting, is there any pictures on the web to look it up?

Hi, the low side port is located on suction side near compressor , it can be identified as the larger of the two lines from compressor. Using eye protection and gloves hook can to hose, hook hose up to port , open valves, crank engine , turn on AC.

What size is high pressure hose and suction hose for a 94 toyota 4X4 22RE 4 cylinder

I'm assuming you are asking about the air conditioning hoses. If you are trying to add refrigerant you need to put it in the suction hose. If you are using the cans from the auto parts store, it will only fit on the suction side of the system. They have tried to dummy-proof the connections so you don't blow the can up. The suction side will be the larger hose. Also, there will usually be insulation covering the hose and or lines. The refrigerant port is just above the compressor. If your system has leaked off, try a leak sealer with an indicator in it. You use a blacklight to find the leak. If you really want the leak fixed without tearing the system apart use Superseal. This stuff is so good that it seals up the hose that comes on the can. You can't re-use it.

The Freon goes into the "suction" hose/pipe assembly. There will be a service port on this hose. The low side (blue) hose of the manifold gauge set gets connected to this fitting. The suction hose can be identified by it's larger diameter (compared to the discharge and liquid hoses). The suction hose will run from the compressor across the top of the radiator (slightly behind the radiator), then back towards the firewall on the passenger's side of the engine compartment. The service port is generally closer to the firewall, than to the compressor.
