SOURCE: 2003 Jaguar S-Type, programming a key fob

If its a new key fob the only way you can program it is this the factory scan tool, u'll have to take it to a dealership for them to do this and they will charge you .5 hrs for labor.only x-types can be programmed without the jaguar software. Im guessing it will cost you between 40 and 50 bucks to have them program it.

SOURCE: need key cut for jaguar x-type

hey cheeriospapy,

Unfortunately the key you bought on-line is going to be no good, jaguar keys cannot be cut by any after-market company. When ever a customer comes into the dealership he has to give the vin number to the parts department. They then send an order to the company that cuts the keys specifically to the car. Thats why know one will be able to cut it.

They key also has to be programed to the car which the dealership charges .5 hrs worth of labor to do. So needless to say a replacement key is fairly expensive.

SOURCE: 2003 S TYPE JAGUAR. DON'T DRIVE OFTEN BATTERY

You must charge the battery or you can use jumper cables from another battery to your battery to activate the electric trunk release, just be sure you hook up the jumper cables correctly ( cable to + on the battery and black to _ terminal of battery)and wear safety glasses when hooking up cables this should release the trunk. Also as a precaution always hook up + or red jumper cables wires first to prevent a arcing spark which is not terribly dangerous but this order in which to connect jumper cables is recommended.

Blower working but hot air will not blow out.

Check the following to start 1 Engine cooling fluid level (have you recently been low on fluid or had work done) 2 hoses to heater are they hot? you may be air-locked within the heater. 3 DCCV = dual climate control valve. this is a 5 x pipe valve found on the bottom of the radiator. you need to check electrical signal to this. 4 climate control module - output. ( These sometimes burn output circuit tracks due to overload - can be repaired )
3+4 you may need the help of an auto electrician, also look for damage to the cables/plugs around the DCCV area. (The wiring loom has been known to suffer from abrasion damage on its route across the front of the engine bay.
Hope this helps, good luck.

My son's 2003 jag-s type with 4.2 engine needs new water pump.

its simple, you will not have any trouble. after you loosen the bolts for the water pump pulley, take the belt off, then take pulley off, take water pump off... 5 bolts. I would buy factory JAG parts, the book says to replace the bolts, torque to 8nm + 90 degrees

03 S-Type R "HELP" !!!A/C Problem!!!!! blows hot air

I had the same problem. exactly. the problem I determined was that the water flow to the heater core is not being restricted by the DCCV. ( heater valve ) My dealer tried replacing everything electronic. and then wanted me to buy a 1400.00 control head. I said no way. I determined that there was no power going to the center yellow wire on the DCCV. Therefore it will default to full hot when no electricity is present. I checked the fuse and had power but none at the connector of the DCCV. I began to follow the harness from the DCCV to the chassis of the vehicle and in the right front coner of the car under the headlight attached to a frame rail. right where everything drips if you have a leak is a connector that has the 3 wires for the DCCV. it is a 8 place connector with 7 wires in it. It had become corroded inside from a leaking DCCV and overtime deteriated the terminal. I replace the connector and all problems were fixed when I had power to the DVVC. I have pictures if you need them. gtcardude@yahoo.com
