Make sure that the tubing around the accumulator is getting cold.
If not, the refrigerant may not be charged up.
Otherwise, the vacuum motor for selecting cold air may be not working correctly causing heated air from the heater core to be routed to the interior of the car.

Do you hear the vacuum motors working when adjusting the heat to cold selector? or changing the thermostat temperature if so equipped?

I got a 2003 f150 that just blow hot air when i turn the ac


First thing is to check and see if there is a belt in tact on your compressor and then see whether or not the compressor clutch engages (clutch is on front of compressor in front of belt.) If so and no cold air, u may need to charge it with 134a refrigerant or have a leak that you'll probably want a shop to repair. Good luck and hope you stay cool.

2003 Ford Windstar AC is not working. It only blows out hot air. The blend door act. works properly(We have already tested it). There are properly freon in the Vehicle. We are at a lost. Please help


Can you tell if compressor clutch is engaged? If clutch isn't engaged only the belt pulley will be moving and the compressor clutch is not engaged. If not engaged, no ac.

Can you check for applicable hvac codes? To check codes, your-self, at the least, you need an obd2 code reader, that will check manufacturer specific codes as well as po.

I haven't looked at your wiring, you could probably check voltage and ground for compressor, hvac on.6158ef87-8677-4b29-952a-e287698970b5.jpg
In the diagram, you see applicable fuses--clutch relay-- the top wire at ac clutch is voltage--black wire is ground.

Air conditioner blows hot but freon is full


Your compressor could be faulty. Check to see if it engages when you press the AC button with the car running.

it may be that the clutch on the A/C compressor is faulty & sometimes it doesn't engage or it could be a wire is loose or a loose connector plug, next time it blows hot air when it should be cold lift the hood & make sure that the clutch on the A/C is engaged ......hope this helps......cheers.

Change ac compressor on ford f150


First, why are you changing the A/C compressor? The most common problem is the clutch that goes bad and won't engage. It's a magnet and they get rusty and needs to be changed. If it's just not working it could just be low on freon. A comp. won't engage if the pressure is too low. You need to "jump" the sensor with a wire to make it kick in to refill the system. Another thing is that the system is under pressure, so when you unhook the lines freon blows out into the air which is against the law. It needs to be evacuated with a special machine.(By a qualified repair shop)

My 2002 Expedition air conditioner will sometimes blow hot air and others cold air


I would check the following possibilities:
1. Is compressor clutch working? - You need to do this when the ac is blowing hot air only - locate compressor drive pulley on engine - rubber belt wraps around it. Start engine and set to max ac. When the ac is blowing hot air, look at the center of the compressor drive pulley using a good flash light - watch it for a while, it should be spinning with the pulley - this means the compressor is engaged. If not, the compressor is not engaged. If your ac is blowing hot air, then the compressor should be engaged and running (trying to cool). If it is not engaged, then your compressor clutch is probably going out. Could be low voltage to clutch, but more likely the clutch is worn out and only working some of the time. Note: if working normally, the compressor clutch will engage and disengage in cycles- but the air should always be cold. If clutch is bad, compressor would need to be replaced (sold as one unit). This is tricky to diagnose and could take some time - you need to do it when ac is blowing hot air but set to max cooling.

2. Low on refrigerant or refrigerant has moisture in it? If your ac blows cold initially after being off for a while, then heats up, and continues to regularly cycle back and forth between hot and cool air, then the system may be low on refrigerant or the refrigerant may have moisture in it that is freezing and restricting refrigerant flow. An a/c shop can check refrigerant level and even replace refrigerant if moisture is suspected.

Could be other issues, but I would start with these.

start car.turn on air conditioner high cool .raise hood look to see if the compressor clutch is engaged and running.if yes your ac air door could be stuck closed or the air door vacuum actutator not receiving vacuum.a vacuum line is broken or off. or the control switch bad.that control the AC and heater mode. if compressor clutch is not engagged.check for power at compressor clutch.if yes compressor clutch coil open. or the air conditioner refrigerant R 134 is low take car to a private garage with a good reputation. they wont be expensive as the dealership.have them hook car air conditioner to a manifold gauge set to check your refrigerant low side and high side pressure.

Is normal for older vehicles to do this. Wait until something breaks and fix it. I know it doesnt sound like great advice, but if all is working,leave it alone.
