I have a 99 Cabrio and there is no transmission dip stick. According to the manual, you cannot add transmission fluid to the transmission yourself, you have to take it to a dealer.

There isn't one. Transmission fluid is something that must be done at the dealership. Sorry, but hope this helps.

I cant find the dip stick for the auto transmission. I looked everywhere. Just dont know. I never owned a VW before, and bought a 96 Jetta gls auto. Help please....

it is my understanding that you have to take it to vw dealer or a vw mechanic and have them check or change tranny fluids. not positive bout it but that is what i was told. daughter just got a jetta turbo and that is what we were told by a friend of hers that has one.

this is a so called sealed transmission, there is no dipstick, there is a fill hole on the side of the transmission, u should be able to touch the fluid with your finger with the plug removed and the trans hot.

How do I add transmission fluid in my 1998 Passat V6 2.8 automatic transmission ? Please help.

Take the measuring stick from sleeve, place a funnel into sleeve (two dollars at your favorite auto parts) and add tranny fluid to level. Do not overfill.

Where is the transmission dipstick on a '99 Beetle?

Sorry folks, when VW breated the New Beetle they sealed the transmission. As such, there is no dip stick in the transmission. Unless you have noticed a fluid loss on the pavement beneath the car, your transmission should be fine. Otherwise, it's a dealer issue.

I need to know where is the dip stick to check the transmission fluid on a 2003 vw passat

There is no automatic transmission dip stick on your car. There is a long procedure to check and fill and you will need special fluid from VW. Better left to the dealer. If you want the procedure let me know.

Might have transmission fluid leak????

its fairly easy to be only need the tool to check transmision should be checked at a temp of 40 degrees i reckon 10-15 mins from cold on idle(dont drive it ) should be about right.then remove the plug in the sump.this exposes a tube that goes in to the sump that is the right length so that only excess oil will drain out.Bassicaly the tube allows the sump to drain until the correct ammount of oil is in there.if you need to top up there is a short tube with a red cover over the top of it.remove this and top up until oil drains out the sump from the hole where the sump plug goes.go here for a picture that explains all.......
