2004 Lincoln Ls misfire

Are you getting a code with this misfire or just feeling one? This car eats coils for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I would replace all (6 or 8) coils and plugs. That would be the best place to start

Code 0304 #4 cyl misfire - 2000 lincoln LS - the spark plugs are good and the seals are not leaking, (no oil at plugs). The car does run but its kind of on the rough side and it has a really tough time...

You replace the spark plugs with the factory spec
plugs every 3 years

You replace both upstream O2 sensors every 100,000 miles

The COP ignition coils can last 2 years or 8, but they all fail by then

With no experience & me not writing a book here, on how to diagnose, just replace all the coils

Get them from Rock Auto

The codes you get are not much use as they are not accurate
The coils act up in different ways & set all sorts of codes

Recurring misfire of #4 coil

get a compression test done on the engine, something may be fouling out the spark plug causing the misfire to occur.

simply swap out one injector for another (I simply say if you there already just replace the injector...its a possibility that it is a bad or plugged up fuel injector. on number 4 cylinder. if spark and fuel are ok, its the injector doing this. good-day !

What you do, is get to a shop,NOT THE DEALER, that has a professional scanner and oscilloscope. Not a code reader. Now you know that codes alone DO NOT tell you what's wrong and never what to replace. I have a 2004. This is Fords most complex vehicle ever. Sort of a test bed for them and a nightmare for us. You will need to find the best driveability tech you can find to work on it. It won't be cheap, nor a quick fix

Have a 2001 lincoln ls checked all plugs, fuel

What codes do you get? Is the check light on steady? Did you switch coils to see if code PO 304 & 2 move. What does fuel pressure look like? Are the O2 sensors in tight and have you looked over the entire PCM System with a professional scanner? How were the injectors and coils checked?

Running sluggish and the engine light flashes constantly

Standing in the front of your car, on the left side count coil # 1 from the one closes to the radiator then 2, 3, 4 toward the back of the engine. On the right count coil # 5 is the one closet to the radiator then # 6, 7, 8 toward to the back of the engine. Hope this can help?

2002 Lincoln LS misfire on cylinder 6. Replaced coil with new one from O'Rielys. Still saying misfire on 6. Installed new plugs at 100K. Now has 119K.

A bad coil pack can foul out the spark plugs. I have also been told the computer might need to be reset for around $100. You must use Motorcraft OE plugs for this car to run at its best is what my mechanic told me.
