Disconnect battery at negative terminal.
Also, disconnect thick wires that go to starter from battery.
Find bolts that hold starter on to engine block and remove them.

Installation is reverse of the removal.

Cant find third bolt on top of strarter and how do i remove

If this is a 4.6L or 5.4L engine the upper right side bolt is tucked in tight against the block. On a 1999 F150 4x4, and similar you need to take off the passenger tire and get into the wheel well. It will help your vision a lot. But about 4 feet of extensions, skirting the motor mount, will position the rachet in the cavity by the crankshaft.

A tip on reassembling-take a piece of masking tape to secure the bolt onto the socket.

My ford 2001 explore sport wont start i change the fuel filter and the fuel pump but no start what could be the problem

does fuel pump get power? next is it turning over but no start cuz that could be ignition module....or if no crank but good power ...dirty or loose battery cables even at starter.or sometimes starters get hung up in flywheel or stuck on a flat spot if you tap starter while atempting to have someone turn it over this will lots of time free up strarter..

My toyota pick up 87 starts sometimes. I changed the strarter and the wires. What can be the problem?

I would check the battery outside of the car and in the car to determine if dirty contacts are the problem.

A load test at your local Sears or Walmart or parts store should help to isolate the problem.

A thorough wire brushing of the electrical contacts can sometimes clear up intermittent starting problems.
