Cracked mirror only, mounting and other parts are functioning well. Can I purchase a mirror only and if so, where?? This is for 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix and the passenger side mirror is cracked but works with the power switch from inside the vehicle.

I don't think is a inproper installation does mounts come apart when you hit the mount it happen to me already.

try a pick a part junkyard. Replacement mirrors are cheap, you just have to pull it off a used car yourself. Go to google and type in "pick a part junkyard" and try to find one near you. You may also to be able to find a parts car on craigslist.com that you can go to to get a mirror off of. And ebay may also suprise you. Go to ebay and type in the mirror you are looking for and you may be able to find what you need. Hope this helps:)

Most mirrors have a very small allen screw that you have to losen then the mirror will have to be slid up towards the roof of the car and it will slide off the metal piece that is glued to the windshield

Usually you can see a faint outline of where the mirror was last...BE CERTAIN to use the mirror mount kit, primer and all. Nothing else even comes close to holding..

gm does make just a mirror glass than you can get at you local dealer.First ck all the clips on the mirror and make shure that they are not cracked

or they can usually recomend a cheep shop that doesnt mind used parts

No schematic needed for the glass is glued on a backing plate which snaps in place on the motor. I would do this in a heated garage for if cold the plastic tabs will break on the new replacement part

It can be removed using a hammer and a drift. It is essentially a jamb fit with a stop. hard to imagine that you would not pull new piece off when you rehang the mirror on the small metal mount piece.

Be certain to follow directions preciecely! use mirror mount kit, forget all other glues, etc.

If it's a metal housing, there'll be a screw securing the mount to the windshield. If it's plastic, it'll have a little tab on the mount that you pull away from the windshield to pop it off....
