If the exhaust system is getting clogged you will notice lack of higher speeds. This condition may of got worse in a short amount of time if you have a fuel control issue. A fuel control issue will melt the catalytic converter and clog it. If that is the case remove the 02 sensor and test drive the car to see if its any different. If it is, your going to have to have it diagnosed before you replace the cat or else you could end up destoying the new cat.

I have a 2001 Suzuki liana 1.6l and when taking off from the lights the car faltered and now has a lack of power.

scan it yet? that be first.
you put in new cop coils before new spark plugs/
why?

btw that effect is called misfire, when it misfires, power drops.
example on a 4 cylinder if 1 goes dead, its not 3cylinder engine
with 1/4 loss of power (its less due to 3 dragging 1 dead horse)

There are no less than 50 causes of misfire
#1 all time reasons , bad spark plugs.
due to never ever getting tuneup on time.
#1 for 100 years, and running.
your engine dont read statistics so can be 49 more.

My 1998 Mitzubishi Lancer 1.5lt has a loss of power mainly going up hills, I have replaced to spark plugs and the HT leads seam to be ok,Could it be the coil?or can someone suggest other probabilitys.

First thing I would check is that all of the plugs are still tight. This is a common problem of them coming loose without the proper torque.

Spark plug

OK, I'm going to give a little tough love here since you are asking questions that would indicate you haven't changed spark plugs before. If this is the first time you have changed plugs, you really need to enlist a friend that can guide you thru the process - its an easy job, but things CAN go wrong. A spark plug insulator can break when removing or installing the plug, The plug can cross thread and damage or even ruin the cylinder head leading to an expensive repair, Wires can get re-installed incorrectly, Do you have a gap tool to check the electrode gap? Sorry for the long diatribe. I just don't want to give advice that will cause you problems. Please reassure me!

I am Having the same problem can anyone tell me the solution. 1994 Audi A100 2.8L engine wont start no spark at plugs and all seem ok Petrol seems to work electrics seems ok

If you can physically see there's no spark at the sparkplugs then you need to check the HT leads(spark plug leads), resistance should be no more than 14 Kilo Ohms per foot of cable! If they're ok check the coil pack for signs of arcing to earth(very common in these cars!) and if they are getting a 12 Volt supply from the ignition, if ok then check the amplifier which is screwed to the top of the air filter housing to see whether voltage is getting through from there, if ok check the crankshaft position sensor! (Also a common fault on these) Has your vehicle got an immobilizer? These when activated, disable the engine control unit and stop the signals from getting to your ignition amplifier module!

My 2002 X-type seems to have loss a bit of power.

hi, it could be your spark plugs but with power loss you cant realy just stick your finger on something, i would check the plugs and the air and fuel filters and the leads aswell.. to save alot of time it is probably easiest to take the car to the dealer and ask for a tune up... they shouldnt charge too much its not a huge job but it is something you can make easy mistakes on

Power Loss

hay I had the same issue it heated up quick and got too hot, the problem is that the thermostat can wear out and restrict the circulation of the coolant. an easy fix just get the bugger taken out no need to replace it and it will run just fine

Hyundai Sonata jerks/loss of power

Has your car ever had a tune up those little 4 cylinder cars will do that even if 1 cylinder isn't firing properly, so in conclusion what you can do is make sure all your spark plug wires are pushed on all the way since the motor mount is broke they might be coming loose but what i would do is change the spark plugs and wires and fuel filter.. just give it a little tune up if your at all handy you can do it yourself and the parts are cheap you might have 60 bucks into it... if you need anymore help or need me to help you with doing the work just let me know and ill answer all of your questions... Please give me a rating if this helped you
thanks Steve
