Looking into the engine you will see at the rear to the right (just below the weather seal) a louvred section in the trim the cabin filter is under this - carefully remove trim and poppers and you can slide it out for renewal - hope this helps - good luck.

I'm not 100% certain, but think it is under the plastic (full width) panel in the engine compartment, behind engine.
This should lift off by "springing it up" off the 5 (or 6) wee round plastic "duzz" type clips towards front of this panel.
Be carefull not to break them!
I think you will probably find pollen filter on Passengers side, by the heater/vent slots in this plastic panel.
I get mine done at the normal services, so haven't actually done it myself.
John.

Hi. My Jag head lights have started this blinking thing. As I am driving they will blink for no apparent reason. There doesn't appear to be anything going on otherwise. Any ideas where to start?

I had an S-Type too, I found this blinking when battery charge was low. So my opinion is something wrong with charging, you have to check battery contacts, measure battery voltage and check alternator. A possible case, contact problem at ECU. THe ECU under the house of pollen filter at engine end. You need some car mechanic ambition to remove the house of pollen filter and to clean ECU connectors with contact cleaner spray.
Of course this is just my experience, no guarantee, this works at you.

Location of cabin air filter on a 2004 jaguar x-type

You need to remove the ''pop fasteners'' on the plastic trim cover on the RHD side (looking into the engine) of the rear of the engine bay where air vent slots are visible. the filter is mounted under there, it slides in. Tricky but not difficult.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD THE AIR & CABIN (POLLEN) FILTERS BE CHANGED ON X TYPE 2lt DIESEL ?

These filters should both be replaced at the same time, every 6000 miles or every other oil change. However, the cabin filter almost always fouls up faster than the engine air filter, so maybe every 3000 miles for the cabin.
