The easiest thing to do to make sure is to take your car to Autozone. They will do a free "check engine" scan on your car to get the codes of problems. Then will let you know what each code (if more than one) is for.

The fuel filter is located on the rail under your car. Sometimes hard to find because the put a metal guard around it. Yours should be on the drivers side. Good luck
