Nope, it's only connected to the indicator on the dash and the ECM . If the sensor is triggered by a low pressure then the ECM will interpret that as a sign of engine failure and might shut the fuel pump. So no, it doesn't control it directly.

I heard that oil pressure switch controls the electric fuel pumps

i would not imagine that to be the case as fuel pumps start on ignition turn on so that fuel pressure is supplied for starting
However it is possible that there is a low pressure switch in the oil galley that turns off the engine if the oil pressure drops below safe level
That unit if failing would not allow the engine to start until the minimum oil pressure was reached
That unit would be reporting to the ECM which controls spark

you should do a fuel pump pressure test it might be the problem, loss of fuel pressure will cause this to happen without notice

Bad oil switch/ fuel shutoff switch

Only Ford products have a fuel switch called an inertia switch.
GM products use a fuel pump relay and the oil pressure switch to provide power to the pump.

Where is the fuel pump shut off switch located in a 2000 pontiac sunfire

GM doesn't use a fuel pump shut off switch, the safety system works like this, fuel pump is turned off if the engine oil pressure goes to zero with the key in the run position. Ford uses a shut off switch that is activated by an impact exceeding 3 G's (3X the force of gravity), it is called the fuel pump shut off inertia switch.

CHEVY DOESN'T USE A FUEL PUMP RESET/CUTOFF SWITCH, FORDS USE THIS FEATURE, ON A CHEVY IT IS DONE WITH THE OIL PRESSURE CUTOFF SWITCH, SO IF U LOOSE OIL PRESSURE THE FUEL PUMP CUTS OFF, THIS OIL PRESSURE FUEL PUMP CUTOFF SWITCH AND IT'S WIRING ARE NEAR THE OIL FUILTER UNDER THE TRUCK.
