Not knowing what year or make of the car, you remove them by removing the bolts at the end and the top of the strut, the trunk must be supported so it doesnt fall on you,the other type is the clip type. instead of bolts on the ends it will have clips that you slide out,

Do you mean the gas struts that hold up the trunk lid? They are usually secured by a single stud at each end which you just unbolt and replace the strut while an assistant supports the trunk lid. Or they are fitted to small ball type mounts in which case carefully pry the strut off and pop the replacement back on again while the lid is supported.

Trunk struts need adjusting 2007 Sonata

Not if they are gas charged struts, but could be replaced. Take both struts off at one end and see if that was the problem with difficulty raising the trunk lid.

HI, I have got the new Azera trunk lift support cylinders. I do not know how to replace the old lifts with new ones. please send the steps if anyone know how to do this.

These gas filled struts have a "U" shaped clip on both ends of the strut. Using a small flat tip screwdriver, pop these clips outward (not all the way out). Lifting the trunk lid slightly will allow you to remove these struts and install the new ones.

VickiMy trunk does not stay open, does it need a fuse?

Nice Car...the trunk is supported by 2 rod/struts one on each side, attached to the rear car body, and the trunk...these struts wear out and the symptom is the trunk will not stay up by itself...these rod/struts are available at most Auto Parts Stores...or definitely on the internet...the best manufacturer if replacement hood and trunk struts is "Mighty Arm" available on the internet...prices vary by car make and model...pretty easy to change...a good Auto Parts person might help demonstrate the easy switch out...:)

How do I replace the trunk struts on my 2001 chrysler sebring. i have the new parts

you will need a rod or something ( friend) to hold up the lid and the old struts will pry off, most are just a ball and socket unless yours bolt on.

The trunk lifts/trunk struts on my 2001 Yukon have failed and need to be replaced. My questions: Are both struts the same part number or is there a separate number for the right and left strut and how do I...

they should when you purchase them let hem know you need both left and right but i believe they are the same as you should be able to turn the rod itself .
