Where is the fuel filter located on a 2001 Malibu

if you look under the car in between the rear axle and the fuel tank it will be kind of hidden above the charcoal canister. The canister can be moved out of the way by removing the bolt with a 10mm socket.

You will need a 16mm & 20mm wrench to remove the filter. If it is rusty you may need a 16mm line wrench to get the connection broken loose.

Does 2001 chevy malibu have a fuel pump fuse

I am not sure if it has a fuse but your owners manual will say. I know it has a relay. If your not getting any fuel a good bet is to check your fuel filter and check to see if the fuel pump turns on for a second when you first turn the key on. Your pump may be bad. I have a 2001 malibu and have had 3 pumps in it since new.

The fuel strainer attaches to the lower end of the fuel pump module. The fuel strainer is made of woven plastic. The functions of the fuel strainer are to filter contaminants and to wick fuel. The fuel strainer normally requires no maintenance. Fuel stoppage at this point indicates that the fuel tank contains an abnormal amount of sediment or contamination.

Fuel pump

i believe it's around 80, but anything higher than 60 should run it somewhat, just lacking power, and dogging out while accelerating, like a running out of gas symptom.
