Easiest way to do a timing belt for a 3000gt is to loosen the engine mount right by the timing assembly. Jack up that side of the motor to change the belt. You will need a new tensioner as well. I'm not sure if you've done timing belts before but make sure you mark the top dead centers on the belt. On dual overheads on our cars, it is a good idea to make 2 wedges out of wood that wedge into the pair of cam gears to keep them from moving before you remove the old belt. Also when installing the belt I found the paperclips (the ones you use for a large amount of paper usually with a black clip with 2 silver side clips) to be useful to keep the belt on the cams while moving on to the next cam. This keeps the belt in place. It's kinda hard to explain through words but I hope this helped. =)

Time belt as installing tata indigo 2007?

When you buy a belt, you get a picture or in some cases
a booklet, of how to do the job

Timing belts are really for the most experienced professional

Not a job-- if you have no vehicle experience at all

Sometimes you can watch You Tube Video

I use all the resources, but buy ALL the FACTORY service
manuals available

You need the best reference material you can get

Sometimes you spend more time studying then doing the job

Water pump

Hey Brian,on your vehicle,it says that the timing belt should be replaced at the same time as water pump,so I would go that route,2 birds with one stone, also it's best to have a pictured step by step guide to do this and you will always have a guide to do repairs, here's a link on buying a repair manual.

When should timing belt be changed?

Hi there:
most manufactures call for timing belt/chains to be replaced approximately every 75,000 to 100,000 miles.
Timing belt replacement can be very difficult if you don't have much experience in that type of repair for the best step by step instructions it would be best too go and get a repair manual from your local parts distributor i would recommend getting a chilton repair manual.
hope this is helpful for you best of luck too you

Timing belt replacement for 1996 hyundai accent

You need to get a manual. Try the Haynes manual for your car. Try autozone; generally available for around $20. This is not the type of thing that can be covered here in enough detail to do you any good. You need a picture.
Buy new timing belt. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove timing belt cover. make sure cylinder #1 is set at TDC. making sure all components are properly aligned and loosen pensioner to remove old timing belt. Install new timing belt. Tension belt, ensure all components are aligned properly, replace timing belt covers and reconnect battery.

Need instructions to change timing belt and water pump on 2005 huyndai accent

It would be hard to explain over the computer.
The best and easiest way to do this is get a Chilton manual for the auto-parts store. The book runs about $20.
It will show you step by step on how to do it. It's the do-it-yourself bible for your car.
This way you have all the pictures, diagrams and other info you need. It's great research material.
