Question about 2000 Volvo S80

1 Answer

I have a 2000 s80 volvo which i hear a clunking sound when turning right on the drivers side. The other day found a leak on the passenger side of car which some one said was power steering fluid. i just had to replace the air flow meter and alternator. Wondering if i can drive and just keep tabs on fluid level for a while wonder how much this repair is gonna be?

The clunk sound may be the sway bar links. you should be fine keeping tabs on the fluid for a month but i wouldnt put off repairs too much longer than that

Have 4 codes P0306 P1181 P0141 P0136 is there easy fix? Also vibration at high speeds and passenger aide in front sounds like humming any ideas 2000 Volvo S80 2.9 Non turbo

There is no "easy fix" as only 2 of the 4 codes are for the same thing...for the P0136 and P0141, its probably a bad Bank 1 sensor 2 oxygen sensor..the P0306 means cylinder 6 is misfiring (it could be bad spark plug, bad coil, bad injector, carbon on valves, low compression) and P1181 is showing a fuel delivery issue high pressure...as for the vibration, have all tires checked for balance and hum on passenger side is possibly a bad wheel bearing...and and all is best to have checked by your mechanic.

Mostly in the am... my 2006 volvo s80 flashing multiple error messages including brake failure stop safely, transmission service requested, is hard pull on engine, ca hear a couple 'clunks' under car. ...

I would start with something simple like a load test on the battery as it apparently does not have enough current stored to run the CPU properly. IN the AM I would think that you would have the lights on and these drain any excess current from the battery. Check the alternator for correct out put and check drive belt tension and condition as a slipping belt will be the cause of the faults.

Sounds like a tell tale sign of a heatercore. Depending on your level of mechanics, lift the hood and check the two coolant hoses going to the firewall for leaks, if no leaks are found, sounds like the heater core is leaking and needs to be replaced.

have the shocks been fitted properly and are they the right size, ie; you didnt have the car lowered,
Check track rod ends and ball joints and all hub fixings, ( check wheel nuts are torqued up evenly, not just whipped up with impact wrench)
