MY DEFENITION OF DTC 538 IS "INSUFFICENT RPM CHANGE DURING KOER DYNAMIC RESPONSE TEST"
IS THAT STILL RELATED TO THE IAC VALVE....

    THANKS...

Dtc412 is indicating that the high rpm self test failed .. the computer couldnt control the speed .. this usuallly indicates that the IAC valve is bad (idle air control valve) .. it could also be caused by the throttle llinkage sticking .. make sure its free with no carbon buildup on the throttle plate ....
dtc538 is indicating an invalid cylinderr balance test due to movement of the throttle at the wrong times .. this is likely caused by the same IAC vavle problem .. check wiring and connector to that vavle .. replace valve ..

during the coer test you are expected to hit the throttle .. if the engine does not respond properly then you get a code 538 .. if you did the test correctly and still get the code then you can suspect the IAC .. you can remove the IAC and clean it to see if that helps .. it has two bolts to the intake manifold ..and an electrical connnection .. its about 4 inch long 2 high .. it could be stuck .. so cleaning can help .. there are other things that can cause the trouble but thats a good place to start ..

The IAC is mounted to the upper intake manifold with two small bolts, and has a small electrical connector on it. It is about two by four inches. It may be sticking closed. You can remove it (be careful, it may have a paper gasket) and clean it out with an Air Intake Cleaner. If this doesn't help, it may have failed and need replacing. The exhaust could have a build-up of raw fuel when the engine stalls.

How to change a csmshsft sensor on a 2008 cadillac srx

Before you replace a part you may or may not need . Why ? What code ? Does the vehicle run ? There has been a lot of confusion on these vehicles with variable valve timing , mixing up cam sensors with camshaft actuators

DTC P0009: Engine Position System Performance Bank 2
The presence of DTCs P0008 and P0009 along with P0016, P0017, P0018, and P0019 indicates a possible condition with the primary timing chain and the alignment between both intermediate sprockets and the crankshaft. Or, the crankshaft reluctor wheel has moved and is no longer referenced to top dead center (TDC).

?€¢
Observe the scan tool CMP Desired, Actual, and Angle Variance parameters before a DTC sets. This may help to isolate whether a condition is specific to one camshaft, one bank, or caused by a condition with the primary crankshaft timing.

My top does not work

Diagnostic Starting Point - Roof (Folding Top)
Begin the system diagnosis with the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle in Vehicle DTC Information. The Vehicle System Check will provide the following information:
?€¢
The identification of the control modules which commands the system

?€¢
The ability of the control modules to communicate through the serial data circuit

?€¢
The identification of any stored diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and their status

The use of Vehicle System Check will identify the correct procedure for diagnosing the system and where the procedure is located.
Have vehicle scanned for DTC'S . The power roof has a number of DTC'S that can be set ,could make diagnosing easier !

DTC B1010 08 sets when the folding top control (FTC) module detects a switch is not in the proper state when compared to other switches. The conditions that cause DTC B1010 08 to set may also set other Folding Top DTCs. The position and direction of the folding top when the fault occurs will determine whether DTC B1010 08 will set or another Folding Top DTC will set. If any Folding Top DTCs between DTC B1296-DTC B3685 are set, diagnose those DTCs first. After diagnosing any other Folding Top DTCs, clear DTCs and operate the Folding Top to see if DTC B1010 08 resets before diagnosing it.
