Starter solenoid sounds bad, it will still start by pushing the car off. The battery sends power to the solenoid which turns the starter over. The reason you don;t hear a sound is the energy isn't leaving the solenoid to boost the starter. Get it checked out, usually they will check it for free at some local parts store.
