Not too hard, behind the mirror on the inside there should be a triangular plastic cover, this will unclip with a little bit of levering with a screwdriver or flat blade.
once removed you should see a few holes in the door frame, in a few of those holes you will see at least 3 bolt heads, undo the bolts making sure you dont drop them inside the door cavity, there will also be a multi wire electric plug that you will have to seperate, the outside mirror can now be removed.
Dont try just replacing the glass as it involves almost destroying the whole mirror assembly, replace the complete mirror assembly

There is no triangular trim on the 2004 Pacifica. Instead there is a trim that surrounds the upper part of the interior door trim. I am now trying to replace the drivers side mirror and it looks like I need to undo the interior side door panel to remove the trim that hides the 3 bolts securing the mirror assembly. I should have looked first before purchasing the mirror assembly. Now it looks like a major undertaking. Why can't car Mfr. use some common sense engineering I will never know why.

I just finished changing my 2004 Pacifica passenger side mirror. First step is to ensure correct replacement mirror. Through the VIN on the car, determine if there is auto dim feature. (I do not know if cabling for the incorrect part will allow proper operation or even operate at all.)
    1) Pull out the door trim from the left upper section. A mini cats paw, or yes a screwdriver would work. Ease out the upper right, it gets harder. There are two screw holding in the trim on the hinge side of the door. The bottom left of the trim is under the door panel inside about 1.5". It has somewhat of a hook on it so it lets the upper part stay up. The bottom right with triangular part is last to come out and it can be eased out now that the other parts are freed up. Remove the three bolts holding in the mirror. Keep the top one on finger tight until the cable is disconnected.
    2) Next ease out the insulation which has the electrical cable through it, so you have to leave it in place, but you need to remove it in order to get at the electrical connector. Examine your replacement mirror electrical connection. See the snap device. This is what you want to push on to extract connector inside the door so that you do not need to disassemble the door panel. The snap is on the bottom front of the connector inside the door barely within finger reach (closest to your finger). You can see it if you (shine a light and) use a mirror. Remove the cable through the insulation. Take off last bolt and remove mirror.
    3) Reverse the process. See orientation of the cable on the replacement mirror vs. the bolts to figure which metal door hole the cable goes through. Finger-tighten the top bolt. Put the cable through the hole of the door and the insulation. The cable is somewhat rigid, so bend it the proper way (straight in, clip down). Clip goes on bottom. Be patient, you will get it.
    4) Once connected, try out the operation. Tighten the bolts. Put back the insulation (somewhat triangular) piece. Reverse the rest of the process from #1 above. Good Luck!

SOURCE: passenger side mirror

If you need to replace the entire mirror - it's a little involved. First you need to take the upper extension panel off from behind the mirror (black triangle) - just pull it of starting at the top. It will snap back on later. Next - remove the different screws holding the door panel in place (not the ones behind the mirror yet!) One is under the handle (pull it out and pull out the filler panel - small plastic thing that has a hole to pry it out). Then take off the rear red light - also pops off - and remove that screw. Finally - pick up the rubber filler where your fingers pull the door shut and remove these torx bolts.

Now is the tricky part. Snapp off the entire interior panel. It will pop off - but very difficult. It will sound like it is breaking! Start at the outer bottom corner - and use a door panel remover tool - check Amazon or E-bay - to keep from breaking things. Pull it out from all around the bottom and sides and then lift it up over the door lock. It good to have a friend help here. The panel will still be held on by a cable - that is your door release - leave it alone and let the panel hang by it (or better, put a box under it to rest on).

Now...remove the three bolts holding the mirror on - have a friend help hold the mirror while you do this or it will scratch your new car! Since the inner panel is off - you can also disonnect the mirror plus and remove it. It sounds silly - but the only reason to remove the door panel is to unplug it!

Get you new mirror and reverse the steps.

If you are just replacing the glass (non-heated) - get a replacement from the dealer. Adjust the mirror all the way to the inside and reach behind and pop it off. CAREFUL - put tape over the entire glass as it will likely break even more! Remove your connectors if heated - and replace (and reconnect) with your new glass. It just pops back on!

Replacing glass is easy - just be careful of cheap imitations on e-abay). And never use cheap flat glass on the passenger side! The DOT has special requirements for mirror glass - buy it from gmpartsdirect.com or your local dealer.

SOURCE: Passenger side mirror replacement procedures

If its a power mirror there is more thing you will have to remove to get to the wires but if not there is a screw on the corner piece on the inside of the door. just pull the screw out and the bolts (3) that hold the mirror on are behind it. If it power then you will have to remove the door panel to access the wiring to disconnect it

SOURCE: Replace passenger side electric mirror

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door

Is it hard to replace the passenger side mirror for a 09 galant v6

Not really.

1. Remove the plastic mirror cover (on the inside of the door) and this will reveal the mounting screws and wiring of the mirror assembly.

2. Disconnect the mirror wiring loom on the inside of the door

3. Remove the screws and withdraw the mirror assembly from the door.
