Why you have replaced the Fuel pump? who advised you to do so?
be guided as follow 1. on the Engine Side on the top there is a fuel rail for the injectors. turn the ign. key to the second position (on) and check the valve located on the fuel rail if fuel is coming pressurized and still won't work. then open on of the spark plugs wires and check if spark is there. (Be Careful doing that). if no spark then is there any message comes up on the Dash? if not messages then you can check the Crank Sensor if no current being generated from the ign. coils.

if no spark then you need to change your Crank Sensor. it's mounted on the tail underneath of the engine. Basically between the Gearbox and the engine. it's reading the Flywheel rotation in order to generate voltage. the exact place is just the opposite of the Starter motor. Means if the starter motor fitted on the left side of the engine when you stand infront of the car then the Crank Sensor on the Right side.
if your Vehicle is 1999on Bosch Management engine then part no. is ERR7354

This looks like the idel valve motor is faulty or disconnected...I wanted to know your exact Chassis no. in order to guide you properly but you never did...

  • Salmaneid Aug 13, 2010

    Hi There...

I've been too busy and had no time really to get in touch with you to have your problem solved. The Main problem is that you keep buying parts and that might be not the fault so it's not good of just guessing and wasting time, energy and money. Have you got a friend having same vehicle so that at least I can guide to swap some parts to try instead of just wasting.

  • hoopshoodsty Aug 13, 2010

I don't have a friend with the same vehicle, do you think getting a diagnostic will help?

  • Salmaneid Aug 13, 2010

of course...going to any workshop having a diagnostic device to have your truck checked is much much better than keep buying parts for no use. when you get ur truck checked let me know what are the faults showed up so that I can advice u what to do if you want to.

Location of the fuel pump relay for p38 1998 range rover

Relays are located in the "under hood relay/fuse panel" on the passenger side between the radiator overflow and the battery. Remove the lid and on the underside of the lid you will find the diagram. The fuel pump relay will be indicated by a graphic of a fuel filling station pump. The relay itself is yellow. Also check the pump fuse, located in the same relay box and if needed check your inertia cutoff switch located in the passenger footewell. There is a panel to the right just under the glove box. It has a popout access door but its much easier to remover this small panel and providing clear access to the switch. Push down on the rubber cover on top of the switch. If it is engaged you are ok here. If when you push down you hear a click then the inertia cutoff was switched somehow and this cuts fuel supply. These switches have plastic internal parts and dont take much to fail. Hope this helps. Happy to provide further suggestions if you wish to repost more info. Good luck!

My Range Rover 2.5 DSE turns over but wont catch

Is your battery good? fully charged? It could be ignition or distributor module. Might also want to check the crankshaft position sensor.Check your fuses/relays for fuel pump and make sure your fuel pump is coming on when your key is turned to the on position.
