It doesn't have a crank sensor. It has a pick-up in the distributor that runs the ignition module which is also in the distributor. When it won't start does it have spark?

run fault codes and check for ambient air temp/water temp/cam/crank position servos/sensors faults. Something that is controlled by temperature that is connected to the cpu is telling it not to start as it is out of parameters.

Sounds like a faulty injector, had the same problem about 2 years ago cost over £1500 to have new injectors fitted.

It might be worth trying some redex or similar cleaning product incase its just blocked.
