Need to replace fuel filter in all wheel drive 2002 astro, is there an access plate, or do you need to drop the tank?

Fuel filter should be located about 2 feet in front of the fuel tank, inside the drivers frame rail.Be very careful to releive fuel pressure, as it will spray in your face when you loosen the connections. Follow shop manual instuctions for releiving fuel pressure.

While truck was running I disconnected a fuel relay to relieve pressure from fuel lines to change the fuel filter. Truck would not restart. Assumed fuel pump was bad . Replaced it along with in-tank filter...

Removing the relay would not releive the fuel pressure. Arc across the fuel relay terminals and jump start the fuel pump. Also check to make sure the fuel filter is properly installed.

Mustang stalls when trying to drive and will shut down

Measure fuel pressure on injector rail - should be 38 to 40 psi. If low or fluctuating, then replace regulator. Another possibility is the in-tank filter being clogged - rare I know, but trash in the gas tank and it's clogged.

Runs rough and pops on excelleration

if you have a fuel pressure gauge i would check fuel pressure at fitting on fuel rail.Backfiring sounds like fuel starvation,if no fuel pressure gauge pull fuel filter off and see if its clogged by trying to blow thru the filter.Be carful to releive fuel pressure before loosing the filter

Replacing fuel filter 2000 impala

Disconect battery and releive the fuel pressure by opening gas cap and under hood with fuel pressure tester. then you need two open ended wrenches.. Go to driver side rear tire and just in front of the tire about a foot under the car you will see the fuel filter remove filter mounting bracket apply one wrench to filter nut and one to fuel line side and turn oposite directions, might want to spray with some penetrating oil fist to break loose, then remove plastic clip from other side of the fuel filter and it should come right out.

Locating and changing the fuel filter.

you can pull fuel injector fuses and remove the gas cap but try to start it a few times so it relieves the pressure that was there...if it does not work on some honda i put a rag underneath the fuel rail and open the large bango nut that connects the line to the fuel rail just crack it 3/4 turn till it leaks a little and let it squirt out the pressure just wear eye protection its pretty easy fuel filter to do..

Where is the Fuel Pump on a 95 Rodeo

The fuel pump is located in the fuel tank. To change it you need to releive fuel pressure, then unbolt the skid plate then the tank and it will be on top of the tank.

There is shraider valve on the fuel rail to test pressure, it can also be used to releive fuel pressure.
There is no need to dissable the fuel pump and crank the engine.

Fuel filter

On your car, the filter is either along the frame rail or near the gas tank. You simply unscrew it and remove the clip holding the lines in place and replace it. Make sure you remove your gas cap and push on your schrader valve at the fuel rail to releive the pressure otherwise you'll have fuel spray out at you when you go to remove the lines. The schrader valve looks like a tire valve, usually there is a black cap on it.

When you loosen the filter, not much fuel is going to come out, just put a rag over it, a few oz. maybe. You could always pull the fuel pump relay and let the eng run until it stalls out.

Also, I just finished changing mine , if you look on the driver side to the left of your coil pack there is a little black cap with a shrader valve inside. If you use a small screw driver and a little cup to catch it, you can relieve the pressure from there. You will still get a little residule from the outlet side of the filter, but not much.
