When you loosen the filter, not much fuel is going to come out, just put a rag over it, a few oz. maybe. You could always pull the fuel pump relay and let the eng run until it stalls out.
Also, I just finished changing mine , if you look on the driver side to the left of your coil pack there is a little black cap with a shrader valve inside. If you use a small screw driver and a little cup to catch it, you can relieve the pressure from there. You will still get a little residule from the outlet side of the filter, but not much.
