On a 318 #1 is at 6:00 o'clock on the distributor when you are looking at it from the front of the car. It turns clockwise and the firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. Odd cylinders are on the driver's side starting from the rad and even on the passenger's. Hope this helps.
Mopar still offers the conversion kit, to swap out the lean burn to regular electronic ignition. I believe the kit is about $150. Has the vac advance dist,. ballast, and elec ign box along with all wiring and instructions... easy backyard/garage fix..couple hours...done... just did my 5th Ave last month.....works like a charm...
Push in and up at the same time at the bottom front of the seat...you need to use some force. Before you start, peek under there with a flashlight and you will see the hooks. Seeing them will give you a better idea on how it comes out. (not hard once you do it a few times)
