Hooked up obd scanner and got the message, "shift solenoid c ckt performance or stuck". i got my chiltons out and through alot of reading figured out it could be either the turbine(input)shaft speed sensor, turbine(output) shaft speed sensor, or the transaxle range sensor, which i found out only comes from ford. where should i start?
SOURCE: input/turbine speed sensor circuit
Your speed sensor, is located on top of the transaxle, near the starter. To access it, remove the battery, then remove the battery tray (4 10mm bolts). You will see wires coming from the lower oxygen sensor, and they snap into the bracket that holds the speed sensor in place. The actual speed sensor has a 2 wire clip on it, and is held in place by the bracket and a 10mm bolt.

your cv joint is getting bad you will need to replace it

has there been a collision recently? not sure why transmission problem would make engine not run. what do you mean it sounds like air is coming from somewhere? sounds like there is a problem in wiring harness. Ford has had a lot of problems with water getting into harnesses. not sure if this is you but the problem sounds that way unless you have been in a recent collision that could have damaged wiring. please reply and i will be watching my emails
SOURCE: code 715 is reading it
If u go to the link below there u will find a diagram of the transmission, the Turbine speed sensor is part #5 in the diagram, it has an electrical connector going to it.
