It sounds like you may have a fan motor problem. It may also be a fan relay --it is kind of like a fuse but different. If it is the relay, that is usually a cheaper part but it depends on where it is located to see how much it will cost t repair or how difficult it would be for you to fix it yourself. You can call the dealer and ask how much it would be to replace the blower motor and or the fan control relay and describe your problem. It may not be ridiculous. These motors and relays fail on many types of cars so it is not an unusual thing. It may work noisily for quite some time before it fully fails.

I hope this helps! God bless!

I just found this out. It seems to be a common problem-the fan motor resistor. It seems to be under 100 to repair. You may want to wait until the things gets worse but whatever you decide. Here is the link.

    http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/Reliab...

An occasional problem on this vehicle is failure of the Blower Motor
Resistor. This failure can cause the blower motor to stop functioning.
The estimated cost to repair the Blower Motor Resistor is $17.67 for
parts and $39.00 for labor. All prices are estimates based on $65.00
per flat rate hour and does not include diagnostic time or any
    applicable sales tax.

What could be causing loud grinding noise when i switch on aircon? Aircon now not working but only makes loud sound.

Sounds like the bearing or part of the clutch in the A/C compressor has failed, or possibly component on a/c fouling on something due to recent repairs however would be unlikely and probably just a coincidence..

Check A/C compressor turns by hand, should be firm but not make any noises.

Check for fouling components related to a/c compressor clutch.

2003 kia sedona Replaced the C/fan H2 relay switch ran fine a few mins then a loud rumble near the front fan and smoke appeared. Switched them back no sound / smoke but now the ac is blowing hot air

Im going to guess that the cooling fan went bad. Smoke is a pretty good indicator that something is no good. It make have blow fuses that also power the A/C compressor. The C/Fan 2 fuse is the one that the compressor uses as well.

Noisy air conditioning fan

If you are talking about the blower motor under the dash, a critter could have stored nuts or acorns in the HVAC system.
You may need to take the blower motor out and take a look.

Air Conditioner fan problem. AC fan very noisy and doesn't blow with full power

bushing in motor is probably shot,or some critter put it's nest in there ,either way the motor has to come out.

During a three hour drive back home, our AC stopped blowing cold air. If you stick your hand in front of the vent, you can feel cold air, but it doesn't blow. If you turn the fan up all the way, you can...

Have your a/c pressure tested, the clicking could be the a/c compr coming on and off due to low freon, it will do that so it don't damage your compr when there is none or low freon.

Fan Blower Makes noise

Sounds like the fan needs to be replaced. But first, to check for obstructions, remove the carpet liner from the underside of the dash on the passenger side and you'll see the blower motor under the dash held in with three screws. If there's something obvious blocking it, remove it and reinstall the fan. If there's nothing blocking it, then you'll probably need to replace the fan. Any auto parts store, Rockauto.com or E-Bay will have the correct fan for your Grand Prix.

Noisy engine, probably due to tension bearing adjustment?

They can be noisy, my rodeo sounds like a diesel. But, it might be something else, belt tensioners usually only tap, one time every rpm, valves might make more racket, rods sound like a snare drum under neath the car, check the oil, the sound should be coming from the front of the engine. Water pumps, alternators, ac comp, all can be noisy. Turn off the ac when listening. Watch out for the fan. A long screwdriver or a piece of wood with ear against the end will quickly find a noisy part.

Ac blows harder on norm than max (recurc)

There could be a recirculation vent door, stuck,or the blower motor is bad.Hard to tell .Not being there it is hard to diagnose. But it does sound like both of these symptoms,so I know what to tell you .Maybe more information would help,I don`t know.Rmove the blower motor and inspect it for broken,or cracked fan cage(squirrel cage fan). Also check motor for abnormal play(side to side movement).Hook fan up to battery and see if it runs fast and not vibrating,or noisy.I hope I was some help,If I can help, let me know.
