When you purchase new oil at the auto parts store, the respresentative can look that up and let you know. If you have already purchased the oil, be sure you are changing the oil filter as well - and you can call an auto parts store and ask them to tell you how much it will take.
Typically, if this is a V6 engine, it will take about 4 1/2 to 5 quarts of oil.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.

The engine light always come on after an oil

Does it come on just when you first start it up after the oil change. Does it stay on for Miles? If it comes on just for a few mint.s right after the change, it has to do with the oil press safety. You install a new filter and as the engine starts it will have to refill the oil filter with oil, plus refill all the oil ports in the block to finely build press to shut off the press safety switch, which will the turn off the light.

May need to add oil to trans

The Cobalt transition is sealed and do not have a place to user/owner-refill the oil. The oil should work fine 50,000 miles and then at the 50M inspection the dealer should check it and refill it if necessary or change it.

Ticking noise coming from car when cold

are they hydraulic tappets?? not adjustable but a mechaniics bodge if they are hydraulic ,,,,put a 5 sec squeeze of washing up liquid into oil filler and half a litre of diesel -----run for about 2/3 days without doing any boy racer stuff ,,,drain oil and refill with a diesel grade oil like shell rotella or anything cheap off of the supermarket shelf and refill with this and add some more washing up liquid .run for a couple of weeks then change oil and filter .and refill with a cheap diesel/petrol oil from supermarket and change oil every 6000kms or 5000miles or a least once a year more frequent if low mileage .this should free off the build up of gum in the hydraulic tappets without stripping the engine.expensive oil is well known for causing this as poly methyl methacrylate which is used to hold the oil viscosity has a nasty habit when full of crud from not changing oil regulary to clag up.moral of story change oil often but a filter every third oil change
