OK, GO TO TAKE OFF FROM STOP. CAR FALLS ON ITS FACE. FEATHER THE GAS PEDAL AND TAKES OFF. IF YOU JUST PUSH DOWN ON PEDAL. STUBLES/BUCKS A COUPLE OF TIMES AND WILL TAKE OFF. SLOW TO ACCELL ALSO. TRY PASSING GEAR AND HESATATE ALSO

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • dj_relly999

Alright, thanks for the clarification. Few things to check, Fuel pump could be faulty causing inaccurate supply of fuel to the engine. The MAF (mass air flow) sensor can be faulty, the MAF has big contribution on engine performance specially the idling. The ECM (engine control module) may need to be resetted too, the ECM controls the air and fuel mixture. You will need to have the Fuel pump and MAF replaced to resolve the problem. Good luck!

I have a 93 Silverado and my problem is when I put it in gear and step on the gas ,it stalls. When it's idling ,it runs great.I have no idea why it does this. Can one of you experts give me an expert answer.

check throttle position sensor output voltage(i think it is the green wire on sensor plug. you can slid a straightened paper clip in beside wire. turn key on, engine Not running, as you move the accelerator voltage should increase. at no accel. it should be around .5 volts and it should increase as you press accelerator. all the way should be above 4 volts. move accelerator real slow, if there is a spot when voltage goes away, sensor is bad.

2000 pontiac grand am 3.4 motor auto trans 4 door.Car starts and drives okay motor seems to stumble slightly between 3000-4000 rpms. with car stopped in park try to rev motor will only go between 3200-4000...

Hi Tom your vehicle is equipped with a Rev limiter it will not allow you to rev the engine above 4000 with the trans in park; as for the first problem you may have one of two things, one of the spark plugs or spark plug wires is bad or you have a flat spot on the throttle positioning sensor in which case have be replaced. Good luck?

96 grand am pop under accelation

Which engine 2.4 Twin Cam or 3.4 V6? The 4 cylinder engine is based on the old Quad4 and I would guess it's either running lean (weak fuel pump) or it's misfiring and you need to replace the spark plugs. Use only AC Delco platinum plugs or it will misfire ( other brands of platinum plugs can cause misfire, especially Bosch). If you have a 3.1 or 3.4 ltr V6 check for leaking intake manifold gaskets.
