Im hoping this solves my problem cause my 95 eagle talon turbo will crank then will spitt sputter and backfire and go dead so im hoping the camshaft sensor is all it is ....question tho do i have to pull the belts covers etc off and reset the timing when i change the part out or is there a easy way of doing this
Car will fire but will not stay running.
I would start with the camshaft sensor because I have had this same problem in the past, and it has been the camshaft position sensor once, and the crankshaft position sensor as well. When they were failing, the car would sometimes sputter, and sometimes die, but start right back up. Good luck!

I have the same year and stalls out occasionally in the beginning and now I can barely drive a quarter mile. All of the parts you listed I've tested and appear ok but what I'm thinking is not fuel because it would act crazy gasping for fuel but the camshaft and crankshaft sensors. If either of these are failing then the engine stops firing and dies. Also could be the alternator or battery. If not enough charge then the car could die. Mine dies like I turned the key off (and don't think it's ignition switch) and gauges all just drop to zero still sounds like engine is sort of on until I finally coast close to stopping and then dies and oil light comes on.
Update: Got a multimeter and checked everything really good. When the car would cut off and not immediately start the volts going to the coil pack were 0.07v, no power going to the fuel pump. After a few minutes the volts would go back up to 12v and the car would start. Process repeating. This means the ECU is shutting the car down. The only parts that would really cause this is the camshaft or crankshaft sensor is bad, the ADS/MFI relay is bad (usually do not go bad) or the ECU is going bad or shorting out which I doubted. I went ahead and replaced the camshaft sensor (the one on the head sensing the overhead cam position) and cleaned the throttle body really good. Been driving for two days straight with no problems. Before I'd be lucky to drive a mile. If you try the camshaft sensor make sure to rewire on a new connector and do not use the old one even if it fits. Most aftermarket are made different anyways to make you do this. Good luck to all who have this problem.
I had the problem and It was my EGR valve try that one out
My 95 eagle talon is doin the same thing cam and crank sensors are both brand new but it acts like its starving for gas very time it get warmed up. Also has new coil plugs an wires. Idk what to do
