I was told u cant bypass security light - it may be a broken wire or a wire came off starter or it could be the key switch - mine would do that - leave key in the ignition (may have to leave ignition on) for any where from 11 - 30 minutes and see if it starts then - if it does I had to have the ignition replaced and there is a recall on those for that - it costed me $605 to get it fixed - waiting to here back from Chevy about getting reimbursed for it!
The connection is most likely the reason. Either the wires are dysfunctional or you have just placed them on the wrong way, assuming the battery and ignition switch are functional. Hope this helps!
ur still in a security lock out with ignition[ key ] system u might have to have it towed to dealer for them to hook up vehicle[contact dealer and advise what is happening and also recheck new key] for reprograming or reset system..some vehicles if u try to start vehicle while in a security mode can get completely locked out of vehicle and if u replaced the whole ignition housing and not just the cylinder the housing is the reader the wiring that is around the housing cylinder tube is what reads the key and syncs with the vehicle if u put in a different one or the wiring is damaged vehicle wont start and will stay in security mode
try to get a jump from a friend and see what happens, does the same, faulty starter, may need replacing, try to use small hammer and tap lightly on the starter couple time and have a friend start the car while you tap lightly on it. check ignition switch where you stick the key in. stick the key in the ignition and turn the key back and forth jiggle and wiggle it and see if your igniting will make contact. do it several time to test and see if its the ignition problems, this part is not cheap to replace.
Vehicle anti-theft (VAT) system is not getting proper reading from the ignition switch. Your key has a resistor built into the head of the key (a silver bar on a black backing). Shine up this bar with some fine steel wool on both sides of the key. Possibly the wiring in the steering column that leads to the VAT module has gone bad or the connections in the ignition switch that mate up with the key's resistor no longer connect properly. End result: the starter and fuel injection system remain dead when all else seems normal............Security light on dash will stay on/flashing. There will be a 3 minute dead/reset period between each unsuccessful start attempt.
