You will need to get the EVAP system looked at as soon as you can as this can how the vehicle starts and runs.
When you say "cranks but won't start' what exactly does the engine do?
Winds very slowly, tries to start but won't catch? - Check the battery.
Spins fast but doesn't try to start? - Check for Spark.
Spins fast, tries to start but stalls out quickly? Check for fuel at the injectors.
HI,THAT IS A USUAL ISSUE RELATED TO THE ELECTROMAGNET WHICH IS ENGAGED ON "P or N" position.Charge your battery overnight, try your handbrakes,if they work fine, just leave the car in whenever you stop and put your handbrake on.This won discharge then the battery unless there is a unrelated electrical fault in the system.
My guess would be a fuel injector or fuel pressure regulator problem, or a Mass air flow sensor. The O2 sensor does not come into play until the engine has run for a couple of minutes. Is the check engine light on ?
98 chev pickup s10 put gas in the gas tank drove it about 2days and the check engen light came on had it check mech said it was the gas cap replace the gas cap the light back on now what help
If not starting U have either a fuel delivery issue or a no spark situation. Open a fuel delivery joint by the engine and turn on the ignition. If fuel squirts out the pump is fine and the hassle is with the spark. Could be bad igniter causing either no spark or a weak one.
You have run the battery down, not enough power to turn the starter over. First thing is to look at the battery and see if it is 4 years old or older. If so replace the battery. If not then charge the battery back up but you will need to disconnect the wires from battery first to charge it correctly. Clean the battery terminals on battery and the cable end that connect to battery. The fuel problem is with the fuel filter or the pump. Lack of fuel pressure to injectors causing it to die. Will need to replace filter and pump to correct this problem. Hope this will help you.
$400.00, the mechanic had to pull the top of the engine off to get to the water pump. 8 hours later, they informed me that they never want to work on a water pump for crysler! Wait till you have to replace the battery.... gonna get rid of our sebring soon! Hope this helps...
