Yes, One of the small pulleys will swing as its spring loaded, the other pulley is the ideler. pull up firmly on the belt and watch the 2 small pulleys, you will see 1 move, That is the tensioner. some require a 3/8 ratchet to move, it has a square hole to insert it in, the other type has a bolt on tip that you put a wrench on to move. Keep in mind this has alot of tension so be carefull

Hello... Yes there is an adjustable pulley.... It is called a belt tensioner. You can find it, with the engine off, pull up on each pulley. The one that moves the most is the tensioner...

To release the tension on the belt, a special tool or a 3/8 or 3/4 in rachet is used...

Once the tension is released, the belt is easily removed and installed.

1996 Buick Park Avenue belt change stud on motor mount nut, the same stud that holds sleeve that has to come off to put the belt on. Won't come out to put belt sprayed with Kano still won't come out?

If you have let off the adjuster idler pulley then the reason the belt will not fit is the way you are trying to put it on. You will need a diagram but generally the belt goes over flat pulleys on the back of the belt and around pulleys with teeth. It will be the way you are pitting it on

My sincere apologies for the delayed response.
I am personally going back to answer your unanswered questions.
I have only been a free contributor to this site for the past 4-months.

I do not know if you still need this information, but I am going ahead and answering it anyway.

CLICK on the following LINK. It has the Belt Diagrams you will need.

Standard Rules for Removal of the Serpentine Belt:
1. Find the Tensioner(s). (See Diagrams on Link)
2. Rotate/Move the Tensioner Pulley/Arm away from contact with the belt and towards the area where the belt is not in contact with the Tensioner Pulley. The Tensioner is spring loaded, and is hard to rotate/move.
3. Remove the loosened belt off one of the other more easily accessed Pulleys.

Replace 2000 buick park ave serpentine belt
Firt - study & write down (draw) the belt path,,
and be sure about it..

Then - put a wrench on the nut in the center of the tension pully.. Move the tension pully to loosen the belt.. Pull belt off..

Repeat to put new one on..

Should be pretty easy..
