Hey whats up my name is robert and i have a problem with my 2006 nissan altima 2.5 auto. i think i know what it could be but i do need ur assistance to be sure. My car does not fire up when i turn the key. How ever it does fire up after i have turned the key about 25 times. i know thats really *** my starter but it hasnt given me problems yet lol. My computer does give me a code that says "parkeutral switch input circut" and on the display screen on the dash cluster that shows "p" park "r" reverse "n" neutral "d" drive etc. Well when ishift into neutral the screen does not show an "n" it is blank. So my question is ... do i need a new computer ipdm or a new dash cluster? pls write me back i really need his car to get to work and get my familly around.

It sounds like you need to replace your Neutral Safety Switch. A (NSS) Neutral Safety Switch comes in all Auto Transmission cars and is a safety device that only lets you start your car only while it is in Park or Neutral. If you try to start it in any other gear or if your NSS is going bad it will prevent you from starting your car. You can replace it yourself it is right by the Auto Shift lever under the console plate. I would have it checked out first to confirm but I'm pretty sure that's what you need.

Was any major work done to it recently? If not find some who has experience and ask them to take another car and use 24 volts to start it once and it may start and be fine. When I rebuild engines I have to do this sometimes. PLEASE MAKE SURE THE PERSON KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT THEY'RE DOING.

Hi Judy, sounds like your Altima has gone in to the secruity immobilzer mode. Your car thinks you are trying to steal it!
Depending on what factory system you have installed will determine how to remedy it...

Here is the basic relearn procedure---Lock & unlock your doors with the KEY.
1) Turn the key to the ON position and wait 15 seconds.

2) Turn the key to the OFF position and wait 30 seconds.

3) Repeat steps 1 & 2.

If problems still remains, follow the same procedure with the valet key or another key that is registered to that immobilizer system on the vehicle.
Also, check your owners manual---there should be more security advice in there.

mcdevito75 Here, Look for a sale on brake jobs from variuos shops, Or look for the small 1--2--3- man shops that charge a bit cheaper than the larger name shops. Expect to spend $200.---$350.00 depending on what you need and the shop.

with a scan tool you should be able to disable tha function so you should not have to cut any wires .

P2101 TAC motor circuit error

Error code p2101 involves the electronic throttle control. Which essential controls your throttle, the car won't accelerate if the code went away and came back after you changed the battery chances are it's just the throttle control sensor which isn't that expensive to replace.
