Question about 1995 Honda Accord
In older cars these were cable actuated but in your car it is all electronic and related to the VSS or Vehicle Speed Sensor. Are you having SPEEDOMETER issues as well, such as not registering how fast you are going? The VSS is located on the transaxle and is an easy repair for a skilled person. There is risk for a DIY person as you can disconnect the drive linkage by accident when doing this repair. A brand, spanking new VSS from a Honda Dealer is $154.95 (P/N 78410-SY0003, Some good info can be found at this site about the part, as well as a diagram. http://autorepair.about.com/library/a/1i/bl845i.htm
If you want to do this yourself, I suggest doing to this site and reading the forums. Many others have done it and offer pictures, advice, etc. http://www.hondahookup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134010
