Question about 1987 Honda Accord
I have power to thee whole car it turns on but doest even try to turn over
If you have full power to the car and lights dont dim, etc. then you have a charged battery and alternator. Honda's are high compression engines and take a strong starter to turn the motor over. If you are putting key in and turnign to CRANK and you get no response, the power doesnt dim, and the lights dont dim when doing this then your power system is fine its a bad starter. The starter for your motor (assuming auto trans) can be found at http://www.partsgeek.com/gbproducts/WC/5969-01024291.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=ff&utm_term=1986-1989+Honda+Accord+Starter+Bosch+86-89+Honda+Starter&utm_content=YN&utm_campaign=PartsGeek+Google+Base
If you are a handy DIY person you can do this change yourself. The starter is On the transmission. You should be able to see it if you open the hood and look at the transmission. It's held on by two or three bolts, has a couple wires going to it, and looks about the size of a large can of soda.
