My automatic seat belt that runs along the door on my 1991 Honda Civic LX dosen`t work on either side. The seat belt light goes on and it constantly beeps. Is there a way to unplug the speaker? Also I was wondering if Honda would honor there life time warranty for a seat belt related problem? My car has a reconstructed title though. Thanks Rick

My 1991 civic did the same thing and it Turned out to be a fuse under the hood. At the same time the door dinger would ding when I hit the brakes and I had no horn.
Your 1991 model Accord has automatic front retracting shoulder belts and, more than likely, the power retractor motor has gone bad on the passenger side front. If the shoulder seat belt is not in the retracted position, up close against the seat, when the car is running, the seat belt light will stay lit on your dash. Have the seat belt motor inspected and replaced if necessary.
See if there is a plug under your driver's seat that is unplugged. Can you remember shoving anything under the seat that might have caused it to come unplugged?
Try pulling the belt out all the way, get a vacuum cleaner and try to clean the inside the best you can. Then take a can of WD40 and with the small red nozzel attached to the spray button, spray the WD40 on each of the sides (with the belt pulled out), and let the belt try to retract, keep trying this multiple times and see if it loosens up.
Your motor for the seat belt is no good you need to replkace it , it should not cost no more the $ 100.00 dollars or less it all depends on whether or not you choose to buy a new one or you go to a salvage yard mysfl I would go to a salvage yard to see if that they have one or not first before you buy a new one.
As I remember, you need to remove the front seat belt mount, & completely remove the back seats, in order to remove the rear door cards, without breaking them. Have fun;)
I had a problem on a 91 Civic DX where the drivers auto seat belt
wouldnt move and the beeper would not stop.Had a blown seat belt
fuse.Replaced the fuse no more problem. The Seat belt fuses are located
under the red cover that covers the positive battery terminal. On mine
the fuse closest to the font of the car was for the drivers side auto
seat belt the one closest to the windshield is for the passager seat
belt. They are green and rated at 30A.
