Question about 2001 Pontiac Aztek

1 Answer

I can not get the radiator cap off of my Pontiac Aztek 2001

I can not remove the radiator cap off of my Pontiac Aztek 2001 model. I have tried everything. I can not get the lip to line up with the slots in the cap. What can I do? It is running hot and I have to keep the heater running all the time. I have been adding antifreeze to the overflow to hopefully save it..
One more question:
I have a beeping noise that is coming from somewhere in the dash.. my brake light came on and now the beeping won't stop.. I had my brakes checked and they said they were fine but could not make the beeping stop. It is driving me crazy.

Let the motor cool all the way,and breath and count to ten. The cap should be pushed down slightly then rotate. Beeping not enough info

How do the power steering hoses go on on a 2001 Pontiac Aztek and why is there no circular motion inside the pump

The only squared thing on the pump is the "plastic"
fluid tank... Everything else about the design & function
is "circular".

There is ABSOLUTELY circular "MOTION" inside the PUMP...
PLEASE NOTE... there is a giant pulley on the front..
and the design of the pump is all about rotational force of the hydraulic pump (right THROUGH the middle).

High pressure to the high pressure...
(with a possible cooler option in the middle)
Low pressure back to the reservoir

okay this is a job and the a/c system needs to be evacuated, then vacuum the system and recharged when done. step one drain coolant and remove the fans with the shroud.remove the radiator hoses, next remove the lower ****** oil cooler line from radiator.
Evacuate freon from a/c system.

remove the nut that holds the a/c discharge line to ac condenser block, then pull line off block,
remove the bolt that secures the evaporator inlet tube to block.
disconnect evaporator inlet tube from block.
Remove the condenser and radiator asm out .
separate condenser from radiator.

reverse to install.

No heat, have replace theromastate is working

sounds like you have an air lock in the system, when the car is cold remove the coolant cap, start the car and let it run with the defrost only on full blast this will allow any air in the cooling system to escape through the open radiator cap,and it will also spill some coolant that is normal, just refill when you are done.
