2004 Mazda 6,,,,4cyl,battery sounds like it's boiling, very hot,,,automatic transmission won't shift,,it stays in 3rd,even blew the main fuse ,the one that you need to start car,

If the battery is very hot and the electrolyte is "boiling", then there is a serious issue with the voltage regulator. You are seriously overcharging the battery and this can lead to a battery explosion. Stop using the vehicle immediately and have the charging system check out for malfunctions. It is not safe to operate the vehicle in this condition and the overcharging can cause additional damage to the vehicle electronics.

2006 dodge ram alternator problem

Just had this problem. the altenator charges the passenger side battery. The computer reads off the drivers side battery. So if there is a bad connection. between the two the drivers side battery tells the altenator it needs to be charged. There for it over charges the passenger side battery. There was corrosion on the positive lines coming in to the terminal on the drivers side. I cleaned all the terminals and lines and the problem was solved.

1985 toyota truck is dead nothing works but battery is good

Before you condemn anything, take a piece of sandpaper or emery cloth, and sand the terminals very gently, making sure to get the battery to shiny condition. Do the same to the internal connectors on the wire terminals, and check to make sure the wires are properly grounded/connected. Then, tighten the connectors down real well again. If that fails, a cheap $12 multimeter from wal-mart will quickly tell you if overcharging killed the battery.

Drivin on high way and check gages came on,says my battery running hot why..

Do you mean the battery is boiling? I assume this is what you mean. It sounds like the diode stuck on the alternator and is overcharging the battery. You may need a new alternator and quick because this can also damage other electrical components on the engine.

My 1987 dodge dakota is not holding a charge, altonator tested and good battery only a year old but have to push start it to get it to run and my lights are really dim

You need to bypass voltage regulator to be certain alternator is charging properly. When you full field alternator it eliminates voltage regulator. If it indeed is good it will overcharge. If it overcharges as it should when you bypass/full field alternator then the regulator, or its connection or the place it attaches to is rusty & wont conduct a ground.

Engine light

The "rotten-egg" smell is caused indirectly by the catalytic converter. The main cause is a rich mixture condition from the engine. Your SUV is equipped with a computer controlled engine management system. You can scan your computer for fault or error codes. The information should pinpoint the malfunctioning components. There is an alternate reason for the rotten egg smell. this also can be caused by a over charged battery. if so, make sure the alternator isn't overcharging the battery cell. it will boil the contents causing the egg smell. I recommend a diagnostic run to make sure what this problem is.

please rate and god bless.

MY battery light came on and

i think the alternator/regulator is overcharging the battery. this explains the cd player turning on and off and the headlight blowing. overcharging also will boil the battery fluid down and trap explosive gases in the battery. when it got really hot because of the lack of fluid, the battery shorted out and ignited the gases in the battery. replace the battery headlight and alternator, and check the output of the system at the battery while running it should be between 13.6 and 14.5.
